2018–19 I-League 2nd Division
The 2018–19 I-League 2nd Division (known as Hero 2018–19 I-League 2nd Division for sponsorship reasons), was the 12th season of the I-League 2nd Division, the second division Indian association football, football league, since its establishment in 2008. The league was played from January to April 2019. TRAU F.C., TRAU won the title and earned the promotion to 2019–20 I-League. Teams Nominated teams At the start of the season 23 teams were nominated by the state associations for participation in this edition of the league. I-League 2nd Division
The I-League 2 is an Indian men's professional association football, football league. It is the 3rd tier of the Indian football league system, behind the Indian Super League and the I-League. It operates as a system of promotion and relegation with the I-League and the I-League 3. History I-League 2nd Division was introduced during the 2008 season, with first game played on 25 March between Mohammedan SC (Kolkata), Mohammedan Sporting and Amity United. That season saw Mohammedan Sporting, Mumbai FC, Vasco SC and Prayag United S.C., Chirag United promoted to the I-League. The next season saw Pune FC, Shillong Lajong, Viva Kerala and Salgaocar getting promoted. Since 2010, only top 2 teams were promoted to the I-League. ONGC FC and HAL SC in that year, in 2011 Shillong Lajong and Sporting Clube de Goa, with Lajong being promoted for the second time. Hindustan Football Club is an Indian professional football club based in New Delhi. Affiliated with the Football Delhi (FD), the club currently participates in the Delhi Premier League. Shirsh Bihar United FC
Shirsh Bihar United Football Club is an Indian professional football club from Muzaffarpur, Bihar. It currently participates in Bihar State Soccer League. History Shirsh Bihar United FC was first nominated for I-League 2nd division in 2018, but did not participate in the league because they had not completed one year. On 20 October 2019, Bihar United played their last league match of District football league Motihari and became champions of A division. Fateh Hyderabad Associated Football Club, also known as Fateh Hyderabad FC, is an Indian professional association football, football club based in Hyderabad, Telangana, that last competed in the I-League 2nd Division, then second tier of the Indian football league system. Chhinga Veng Football Club is an Indian professional football club based in Aizawl, Mizoram. The club competes in the Mizoram Premier League. Langsning Football Club (also known as Langsning Sports Club) is an Indian professional football club based in Shillong, Meghalaya. The club competes in the Shillong Premier League (SPL) and has previously competed in the I-League 2, then second tier of football in India.
