2018–19 Houston Baptist Huskies Men's Basketball Team
The 2018–19 Houston Baptist Huskies men's basketball team represent Houston Baptist University in the 2018–19 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. They are led by head coach Ron Cottrell in his 28th season at HBU. The Huskies play their home games at Sharp Gymnasium as members of the Southland Conference. Previous season The Huskies finished the 2017–18 season 6–25, 2–16 in Southland play to finish in a tie for 11th place. They failed to qualify for the Southland tournament. Ron Cottrell
Ron Cottrell (born October 11, 1960) is an American basketball coach. He is most known for being the head men's basketball coach at Houston Christian University in Houston, Houston, Texas from 1990 to 2024. After beginning his career as a student assistant on Nolan Richardson's staff at Arkansas, Cottrell took over as Athletic Director and head men's basketball coach at Houston Christian, then known as Houston Baptist. From 1998 to 2007, the Huskies made the NAIA men's basketball tournament each season. On December 7, 2021, Cottrell earned his 500th win as a head coach. On March 7, 2024, it was announced that HCU and Cottrell would be parting ways after 34 years. The Kohl Center is a multi-purpose arena located at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, United States. The arena opened in 1998 and is the home of the university's men's basketball and ice hockey teams, and the women's basketball team. Maui Invitational Tournament
The Maui Invitational is an annual early-season college basketball tournament that takes place Thanksgiving week, normally in Lahaina, Hawaii, at the Lahaina Civic Center on the island of Maui. It is hosted by Chaminade University of Honolulu, an NCAA Division II school. Seven or eight NCAA Division I men's basketball teams are invited to Maui to compete in the field, with Chaminade competing every other year. McKale Center
McKale Memorial Center is an athletic arena in the southwest United States, located on the campus of the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona. As the home of the university's Wildcats basketball team of the Big 12 Conference, it is primarily used for basketball, but also has physical training and therapy facilities. Its construction is marked with a large copper cap that has oxidized brown. In the 1960s, it was recognized that the Wildcats' basketball venue, Bear Down Gymnasium, was outdated and in need of replacement. Major planning for the new facility began in 1966.
