2018–19 Gibraltar Second Division
The 2018–19 Gibraltar Second Division was the sixth and final season of the second tier football in Gibraltar since the Gibraltar Football Association joined UEFA. The season began on 15 August 2018. After the expulsion of Angels F.C., Angels the previous season and withdrawal of Cannons F.C., Cannons, the league was contested by 7 clubs. This season saw the return of the Gibraltar Division 2 Cup, Second Division Cup after stadium renovations saw the tournament scrapped the previous year. The tournament took place during a mid-season break from 17 December 2018 until 9 March 2019. F.C. Boca Gibraltar, Boca Gibraltar were the reigning champions, earning promotion to the 2018–19 Gibraltar Premier Division. There was no promotion after the completion of this season due to the merger of Gibraltar's football leagues to form the new Gibraltar National League. Gibraltar Second Division
The Gibraltar Second Division was the second tier of association football, football in the British Overseas Territory of Gibraltar, run by the Gibraltar Football Association (GFA). The league was founded in 1909 after the expansion of the Gibraltar Premier Division and as of the 2016–17 season contains 10 clubs. All of the sides competing were amateur. Teams in this division, along with the Gibraltar U-15 national team, entered the Rock Cup in the first round except for 3 clubs who received byes to the second round. Promotion was not regular until 2007-08 due to the prevalence of reserve teams in the division. As of the 2016–17 season, league champions are automatically promoted, and the runners up enter a play-off with the second-from-bottom team in the Gibraltar Premier Division. 2018–19 Gibraltar Intermediate League
The 2018–19 Gibraltar Intermediate League is the first season of under-23 football in Gibraltar, after reforms to reserve team football in June 2018. The league is expected to be contested by ten clubs, and began on 21 August 2018 despite initially being set to begin on 13 August. Format The Gibraltar Intermediate League was established by the Gibraltar Football Association in June 2018 as a merger of the pre-existing Reserves Division and Under 18 Division, in order to aid player development on the territory.
