2018–19 Four Hills Tournament
The 2018–19 Four Hills Tournament took place at the four traditional venues of Oberstdorf, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Innsbruck, and Bischofshofen, located in Germany and Austria, between 30 December 2018 and 6 January 2019. Ryoyu Kobayashi became the second ski jumper from Japan to win the overall tournament title, following Kazuyoshi Funaki in 1997–98. Kobayashi also became the third ski jumper in history to win all four events, after Sven Hannawald in 2001–02 and Kamil Stoch in 2017–18. 2018–19 FIS Ski Jumping World Cup
The 2018–19 FIS Ski Jumping World Cup was the 40th World Cup season in ski jumping for men, the 22nd official World Cup season in ski flying, and the 8th World Cup season for ladies. The season began on 17 November 2018 in Wisła for men and in Lillehammer for ladies; the season concluded on 24 March 2019 in Planica for men and in Chaykovsky for ladies. The first edition of ladies' Raw Air was organized simultaneously with men's edition between 9–14 March 2019. And at the end of the season new tournament called "Russia Tour Blue Bird" for ladies was organized in Nizhny Tagil and Chaykovsky between 16 and 24 March 2019. New rules have been introduced at the 2018 Fall meeting in Zürich: from now on one Continental Cup point will be enough to perform at the Ski Flying event and not one World Cup point anymore. Daniel Huber (born 2 January 1993) is an Austrian ski jumper. He is the older brother of Stefan Huber, also a ski jumper. Robert Johansson
Robert Høneren Johansson (born 23 March 1990) is a former Norwegian ski jumper. He is a former ski flying world record holder, having landed a jump of in Vikersund on 18 March 2017. Johansson has often been nicknamed the "Wing Commander" for his distinctive handlebar moustache. He announced his retirement on May 20, 2025. Andreas Kolset Stjernen (born 30 July 1988) is a Norwegian retired Ski jumping, ski jumper. He is the son of former ski jumper Hroar Stjernen. 2001–02 Four Hills Tournament
The 50th edition of the annual Four Hills Tournament marked the first time an athlete won all four events of the tournament. In the past, fifteen times a ski jumper won three out of four events, but never the 'Grand Slam'. Sven Hannawald's feat would not be repeated until 2017-18 by Kamil Stoch. Format At each of the four events, a qualification round was held. The 50 best jumpers qualified for the competition. The fifteen athletes leading the World Cup at the time qualified automatically. In case of an omitted qualification or a result that would normally result in elimination, they would instead qualify as 50th. Unlike the procedure at normal World Cup events, the 50 qualified athletes were paired up for the first round of the final event, with the winner proceeding to the second round. Sven Hannawald
Sven Hannawald (; born 9 November 1974) is a German former ski jumper. Having competed from 1992 to 2004, his career highlight was winning the 2002 Four Hills Tournament, on that occasion becoming the first athlete to win all four events of said tournament. He also finished runner-up twice in the World Cup season, winning four medals at the Ski Jumping World Championships, as well as three medals each at the Winter Olympics and Ski Flying World Championships. Early life Hannawald was born in Erlabrunn and grew up in the nearby town of Johanngeorgenstadt by SC Dynamo Johanngeorgenstadt in the Ore Mountains. At age twelve, he was sent to a special school for young athletes in Klingenthal (SG Dynamo Klingenthal), also in Saxony.
