2018–19 Eredivisie (women)
The 2018–19 Eredivisie Vrouwen was the ninth season of the Netherlands women's professional football league. The season took place from 7 September 2018 to 3 May 2019 with nine teams. Twente won the league championship, its third Eredivisie title, after trailing PSV at the end of the regular season. Twente clinched its tile by defeating PSV in its penultimate match. Teams The number of teams and specific teams was unchanged from the previous season, the first time the Eredivisie had such stability. In the regular season, all nine teams played one another twice, once at home and once away, for a total of 16 matches each. 2018–19 Eredivisie
The 2018–19 Eredivisie was the 63rd season of the Eredivisie since its establishment in 1955. The season began on 10 August 2018 and concluded on 15 May 2019; the Europa League and relegation play-offs will take place later that month. PSV were the defending champions. Emmen, De Graafschap and Fortuna Sittard joined as the promoted clubs from the 2017–18 Eerste Divisie. They replaced Sparta Rotterdam, Twente and Roda JC who were relegated to the 2018–19 Eerste Divisie. Teams A total of 18 teams took part in the league: The best fifteen teams from the 2017–18 season, two promotion/relegation playoff winners ( FC Emmen and De Graafschap) and the 2017–18 Eerste Divisie runners-up ( Fortuna Sittard). Groesbeek
Groesbeek () is a town and former municipality in the province of Gelderland, the Netherlands. In January 2015 the former municipality merged with Millingen aan de Rijn and Ubbergen. The larger area was known as Groesbeek until January 2016, when its name was changed to Berg en Dal. Description Groesbeek is named after a small stream called the Groesbeek (''beek'' being Dutch for "stream" or "brook"), which no longer exists in its original form. Abe Lenstra Stadion
Abe Lenstra Stadion () is a association football, football stadium, located in Heerenveen, Netherlands. It is currently used mostly as a home ground for Eredivisie club SC Heerenveen, Heerenveen. The current capacity is 27,224. Naming The stadium is named after Abe Lenstra, generally considered to be the greatest Heerenveen player in the history of the club. Abe was born on 27 November 1920 in Heerenveen and joined the club aged 15 years. After almost 17 years at Heerenveen, he joined Sportclub Enschede, SC Enschede in 1954. He left this club in 1960 to join SC Enschede's archrival Enschedese Boys. In 1963 he stopped playing football at the age of 42. In total he scored 700 goals in about 730 matches. Heerenveen
Heerenveen (, ) is a town and Municipalities of the Netherlands, municipality in the Provinces of the Netherlands, province of Friesland (Fryslân), in the Northern Netherlands. Barendrecht () is a town and municipality in the west of the Netherlands, near Rotterdam, South Holland. The municipality had a population of in , and covers an area of of which is water.
