2018–19 CESAFI Season
The 2018–19 CESAFI season was the 18th season of the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc., the preeminent inter-scholastic sports competition in Cebu. The 2018–19 season will be the first season of the CESAFI under president Bernard Nicolas Villamor, of Cebu Institute of Technology–University. This season marks the first appearance of University of Cebu – Lapu-Lapu and Mandaue Campus (UC–LM) as a regular member. UC–LM will compete as a separate school from sister school University of Cebu, but will carry the same nickname as the latter, the Webmasters. Aside from UC–LM, the Sisters of Mary–Boystown will also compete in select events as a guest member. For the first time in the league's history, an Under-12 Division will be added to the fold, with basketball, chess, and football being the inaugural sports in the new division. University Of The Visayas
The University of the Visayas (UV) is a private institution located in Cebu City, Philippines. It is the first school in the province of Cebu to attain university status. History Vicente Gullas (1898–1970) founded the University of the Visayas in 1919 aiming to educate young people from average-income families. It was initially called the Visayan Institute, and occupied two rooms rented at the City Intermediate School. The number of students had increased from 37 in 1919 to 87 in 1920, and kept growing, but Gullas could not find a permanent building for the institute and kept moving over various locations in Cebu, borrowing auxiliary facilities from other schools nearby, such as physical education grounds of the Cebu Normal University, Cebu Normal School and the public library near Fuente Osmeña. UC Webmasters
The University of Cebu (UC; ; ) is a private, non-sectarian, coeducational basic and higher education institution in Cebu City, Philippines. It was founded in 1964 offering preschool, grade school, junior & senior high school, undergraduate degrees, and post-graduate degrees. Three-peat
In sports (especially in North America), a three-peat is winning three consecutive championships or tournaments. The term, a portmanteau of the words ''three'' and ''repeat'', originated with the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association, during their unsuccessful campaign for a third consecutive championship during the 1988–89 season, having won the previous two NBA finals. Cebu Coliseum
The Cebu Coliseum is an indoor arena in Cebu City, Philippines. Its seating capacity is around 5,000. The coliseum hosts various sports events and concerts in Cebu and is the primary venue for Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc., CESAFI games. It was also the home of the Cebu Gems of the defunct Metropolitan Basketball Association, MBA. On August 4, 1962, one of the first events it hosted was a fight between hometown hero Gabriel Elorde, Gabriel "Flash" Elorde and Japanese boxer Terou Kosaka. The University of San Carlos (USC or colloquially San Carlos) is a private, Catholic, research, coeducational basic and higher education institution administered by the Philippine Southern Province of the Society of the Divine Word missionaries in Cebu City, Philippines, since 1935.
