Europe
Europe is a continent located entirely in the Northern Hemisphere and mostly in the Eastern Hemisphere. Immerath (Erkelenz)
Erkelenz (, ) is a town in the Rhineland in western Germany that lies southwest of Mönchengladbach on the northern edge of the Cologne Lowland, halfway between the Lower Rhine region and the Lower Meuse (river), Meuse. It is a medium-sized town (over 44,000) and the largest in the Kreis Heinsberg, district of Heinsberg in North Rhine-Westphalia. Despite the town having more than 1,000 years of history and tradition, in 2006 the eastern part of the borough was cleared to make way for the Garzweiler open pit mine, Garzweiler II brown coal pit operated by RWE, RWE Power. This is planned to be in operation until 2045. Over five thousand people from ten villages have had to be resettled as a result. Pyeongchang ( , ; in full, ''Pyeongchang-gun'' ) is a county in the province of Gangwon-do, South Korea, located in the Taebaek Mountains region. 2018 Winter Olympics
The 2018 Winter Olympics (), officially the XXIII Olympic Winter Games (; ) and also known as PyeongChang 2018 (), were an international winter multi-sport event held between 9 and 25 February 2018 in Pyeongchang County, South Korea, with the opening rounds for certain events held on 8 February, a day before the 2018 Winter Olympics opening ceremony, opening ceremony. Pyeongchang was selected as the host city for the 2018 Winter Olympic Games, Winter Games at the 123rd IOC Session in Durban, South Africa on 6 July 2011. This marked the second time that South Korea had hosted the Olympic Games (having previously hosted the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul), as well as the first time it hosted the Winter Olympics. Albania At The 2018 Winter Olympics
Albania competed at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea, which were held from 9 to 25 February 2018. The country's participation in Pyeongchang marked its fourth appearance at the Winter Olympics since its debut in 2006. The athlete delegation of the country was composed of two people: Erjon Tola and Suela Mëhilli in alpine skiing. The nation had aimed for a delegation of three or four athletes. Mëhilli first competed in the women's giant slalom though placed 53rd, and then did not finish in the Women's slalom. Two days later, Tola competed in the men's giant slalom and placed 47th. 2018 Finnish Presidential Election
Presidential elections were held in Finland on 28 January 2018. The incumbent Sauli Niinistö received 63% of the vote and was re-elected for a second term, avoiding a Two-round system, second round. He received a plurality of the vote in every Municipalities of Finland, municipality and a majority in all but 13 municipalities. Niinistö's second term was from 1 February 2018 to 1 March 2024. Candidates Confirmed candidates National Coalition Party The incumbent president Sauli Niinistö was elected as the candidate of the National Coalition Party in the 2012 election.
