Ulf Timmermann
Ulf Béla Timmermann (, ; born 1 November 1962 in East Berlin) is a German former shot putter who broke the world record several times during the 1980s, and is the first and one of only four people to ever throw over 23 metres (along with Randy Barnes, Joe Kovacs and Ryan Crouser). Timmermann was born in Berlin to an athletic family and took up shot put at 13. He broke his first world record in 1985 with a throw of 22.62 meters. Werner Günthör (born 1 June 1961 in Uttwil) is a former Switzerland, Swiss track and field athlete, who was the best shot putter in the history of Swiss track and field. Biography Günthör won three straight World Championships, 1987 World Championships in Athletics, 1987, 1991 World Championships in Athletics, 1991, and 1993 World Championships in Athletics, 1993, as well as one European Championship in 1986 European Championships in Athletics, 1986. At the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul he won the bronze medal. His personal best throw, and Swiss record, was 22.75 metres, achieved in August 1988 in Bern.
