The 2018 Challenger Banque Nationale de Granby was a professional tennis tournament played on outdoor hard courts. It was the twenty-fifth (ATP) and eighth (ITF) editions of the tournament and was part of the 2018 ATP Challenger Tour and the 2018 ITF Women's Circuit. ATP Challenger Tour
The ATP Challenger Tour (known until the end of 2008 as the ATP Challenger Series) is a series of international men's professional tennis tournaments. It was founded in 1976 as a replacement for the ILTF Satellite Circuit (founded in 1971) as the second tier of tennis. The Challenger Tour events are the second-highest tier of tennis competition, behind the ATP Tour and ahead of the ITF Men%27s World Tennis Tour, ITF World Tennis Tour tournaments. Matthias Bachinger (born 2 April 1987) is a German former tennis player who played professionally from 2005 to 2023. His career-high singles ranking was world No. 85, achieved in August 2011. Professional career In 2007, Bachinger qualified for his first ATP tournament, the 2007 BMW Open. Takanyi Garanganga (born 6 September 1990) is a professional Zimbabwean tennis player. He was born in Mbare, Zimbabwe, a suburb of Harare, and began playing tennis at the age of 8. He first found success at the age of 14 playing tennis, winning the African Junior Championship at the age of 14. This success sparked the interest of Zimbabwean coach Brian de Villiers, who brought Garanganga to the United States.
