2018 All-Ireland Under-21 Hurling Championship
The 2018 All-Ireland Under-21 Hurling Championship was the 55th and last staging of the All-Ireland Under-21 Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1964. The championship began on 7 May 2018 and ended on 26 August 2018. Limerick were the defending champions, however, they were defeated by Tipperary in the Munster semi-final. On 26 August 2018, Tipperary won the championship following a 3-13 to 1-16 defeat of Cork in the All-Ireland final. This was their 10th All-Ireland title overall and their first in eight championship seasons. They were the first team ever to win the All-Ireland title after being defeated in the Munster Championship. Liam Cahill
Liam Cahill (born 13 October 1977) is an Irish hurling manager, former selector and player. He has been manager of the Tipperary county team since 18 July 2022. Playing career College Cahill first came to prominence as a hurler with Scoil Ruáin in Killenaule. In 1992 he was a member of the school's junior hurling team that won the All-Ireland Vocational Championship after a 3-04 to 2-04 defeat of St Colman’s Vocational School from Gort. Club Cahill joined the Ballingarry club at a young age and played in all grades at juvenile and underage levels. He enjoyed championship success in the minor grade, winning back-to-back championship medals in 1994 and 1995. As a member of the Ballingarry senior hurling team, Cahill won South Tipperary Championship medals in 1996, 1998 and 2001. Cahill transferred to the Thurles Sarsfields club in 2007. The 2014 All-Ireland Under-21 Hurling Championship was the 51st staging of the All-Ireland hurling championship for players under the age of twenty-one since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1964. The championship began on 28 May 2014 and ended on 13 September 2014. The Waterford County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) () or Waterford GAA is one of the 32 County board (Gaelic games), county boards of the GAA in Ireland, and is responsible for all levels of Gaelic games in County Waterford. The 2010 Bord Gáis Energy GAA Hurling All-Ireland Under-21 Championship was the 47th staging of Ireland's hurling knock-out competition for players aged between 18 and 21. The 2000 All-Ireland Under-21 Hurling Championship was the 37th staging of the All-Ireland Under-21 Hurling Championship, the Gaelic Athletic Association's premier inter-county hurling tournament for players under the age of twenty-one. The championship began on 7 June 2000 and ended on 17 September 2000. Kilkenny were the defending champions but were defeated by Offaly in the Leinster final. On 17 September 2000, Limerick won the championship following a 1-13 to 0-13 defeat of Galway in the All-Ireland final. This was their second All-Ireland title and their first since 1987. 2008 All-Ireland Under-21 Hurling Championship
The 2008 All-Ireland Under-21 Hurling Championship was the 45th staging of the All-Ireland Under-21 Championship since its esablishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1964. The championship ran from 28 May to 14 September 2008. Galway entered the championship as the defending champions, however, they were beaten by Kilkenny in the All-Ireland semi-final. The All-Ireland final was played on 14 September 2008 at Croke Park in Dublin between Kilkenny and Tipperary in what was their ninth meeting in the final overall and a first meeting in the final in two years. Kilkenny won the match by 2-13 to 0-15 to claim their 11th championship title overall and a first title in two years. This win completed a Grand Slam of hurling titles for Kilkenny in 2008. The 2016 All-Ireland Under-21 Hurling Championship was the 53rd staging of the All-Ireland inter-county championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1964. The championship began on 25 May 2016 and ended on 10 September 2016. Limerick entered the championship as the defending champions. They were beaten by Tipperary in the Munster semi-final.
