2010 All-Ireland Under-21 Hurling Championship
The 2010 Bord Gáis Energy GAA Hurling All-Ireland Under-21 Championship was the 47th staging of Ireland's hurling knock-out competition for players aged between 18 and 21. The final was held at Semple Stadium, Thurles on 11 September 2010. Tipperary won the game by 5-22 to 0-12 against Galway to claim their ninth title. The Championship Overview The All-Ireland Under-21 Hurling Championship of 2010 will be run on a provincial basis as usual. It will be a knockout tournament with pairings drawn at random in the respective provinces - there will be no seeds. Each match will be played as a single leg. If a match is drawn a period of extra time will be played, however, if both sides were still level at the end of extra time a replay will take place. Pádraic Maher
Pádraic Maher (born 9 February 1989) is an Irish former Hurling, hurler who previously played for Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship, Tipperary Senior Championship club Thurles Sarsfields GAA, Thurles Sarsfields and at inter-county level with the Tipperary senior hurling team. He usually lined out as a centre-back. Playing career Thurles CBS Maher first came to prominence as a hurler with Thurles CBS. He played in every grade before eventually joining the senior hurling team as a 15-year-old. On 12 March 2005, Maher lined out at full-back when Thurles CBS suffered a 1-11 to 1-06 defeat by St. Flannan's College from Ennis in the Dr. Harty Cup, Harty Cup final. The Down County Board () or Down GAA is one of the 32 county boards of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) in Ireland, and is responsible for the administration of Gaelic games in County Down.
