2017–18 Wyoming Cowboys Basketball Team
The 2017–18 Wyoming Cowboys basketball team represented the University of Wyoming during the 2017–18 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. They were led by Allen Edwards (basketball), Allen Edwards in his second year as head coach at Wyoming. The Cowboys played their home games at the Arena-Auditorium in Laramie, Wyoming as members of the Mountain West Conference. They finished the season 20–13, 10–8 in Mountain West play to finish in sixth place. They defeated 2017–18 San Jose State Spartans men's basketball team, San Jose State in the first round of the 2018 Mountain West Conference men's basketball tournament, Mountain West tournament before losing in the quarterfinals to 2017–18 New Mexico Lobos men's basketball team, New Mexico. Allen Edwards (basketball)
Allen Eugene Edwards (born December 16, 1975) is an American basketball coach and former basketball player. He is best known for winning two NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament, NCAA championships at the University of Kentucky as a player. Edwards was formerly the head basketball coach at the University of Wyoming. Playing career Edwards, a 6'5" shooting guard from Miami Senior High School in Miami, Florida, went to Kentucky Wildcats men's basketball, Kentucky to play for coach Rick Pitino. Edwards played for the Wildcats from 1994 to 1998, a period where the program went 132–16, won three Southeastern Conference (SEC) championships and two national championships. 2016–17 Utah Valley Wolverines Men's Basketball Team
The 2016–17 Utah Valley Wolverines men's basketball team represented Utah Valley University in the 2016–17 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Wolverines, led by second-year head coach Mark Pope, played their home games at the UCCU Center in Orem, Utah as members of the Western Athletic Conference. They finished the season 17–17, 6–8 in WAC play to finish in fifth place. They defeated Seattle in the quarterfinals of the WAC tournament before losing in the semifinals to Cal State Bakersfield. They received an invitation to the College Basketball Invitational where they defeated Georgia Southern and Rice before losing in the semifinals to Wyoming. Hunter Maldonado
Hunter Alan Maldonado (born March 24, 1999) is an American professional basketball player who last played for MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg of the Basketball Bundesliga (BBL). He played college basketball for the Wyoming Cowboys. High school career Maldonado attended Vista Ridge High School in Colorado Springs, Colorado. As a junior, he averaged 22.6 points, 6.9 rebounds and two steals per game, helping lead Vista Ridge to a 20–7 record and a berth in the 4A state semifinals. Maldonado was named The Gazette 5A-4A Boys' Basketball Peak Performer of the Year. He scored 37 points in a loss to Pueblo West High School. Regarded as a two-star recruit, in June 2016, Maldonado committed to playing college basketball for Wyoming. Pine Bluffs is a town in eastern Laramie County, Wyoming, United States. It is located on the county's border with Nebraska. Pine Bluffs is part of the Cheyenne, Wyoming, Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 1,129 at the 2010 census. White Springs, Florida
White Springs is a town in North Florida, United States, on the Suwannee River. It was developed as a tourist attraction for its mineral spring water baths. The population was 740 at the 2020 census. The UCCS Mountain Lions is the official name of the athletic teams that represent the University of Colorado Colorado Springs, located in Colorado Springs, Colorado, in NCAA Division II intercollegiate sports.
