Russian Women's Basketball Premier League
The Russian Women's Basketball Premier League (officially named ''FONBET Premier League'' for sponsoring reasons) is the premier women's basketball competition in Russia. The category consists of 11 teams playing a total of 20 rounds. At the end of the regular season the top eight teams play the play-offs throughout April, ending in a 5 matches final. UMMC Ekaterinburg is the most successful team in the championship with 18 titles, including a record 13-year winning streak. Defunct team WBC CSKA Moscow, CSKA Moscow, later relocated to Samara, Russia, Samara as VBM-SGAU Samara (9), WBC Dynamo Moscow, Dynamo Moscow (4) and Spartak Moscow Region (2) follow in the palmares. Thanks to large number of foreign players, WBPL teams have been successful in the Euroleague Women, Euroleague since the 2000s, with Spartak Moscow Region winning 4 titles in a row (a competition record since 1976), UMMC Ekaterinburg winning 6 titles, and VBM-SGAU Samara and Dynamo Kursk one each. WBC Enisey Krasnoyarsk
BC Yenisey () is a Russian professional basketball team from the city of Krasnoyarsk, Siberia. Since the 2011–12 season, Enisey plays in the VTB United League. The team colors are blue and white. Its full name is Basketball Club Enisey Krasnoyarsk Krai. History Yenisey Krasnoyarsk was founded as Polytechnic, and played its games at the Krasnoyarsk State Technical University. The team started off in the lower leagues of the Soviet Union, and its best achievement was winning the USSR Cup for teams in Siberia in 1988. In the 1997–98 season, the team played at the highest Russian level for the first time, when it played in the Russian Super League 1. However, the club was relegated immediately, and the next comeback of the club to Russian the highest level was in 2007, when the team was promoted again. WBC Spartak Noginsk
WBC Spartak Noginsk is a Russian women's basketball club from Noginsk, Moscow Oblast founded in 1949. During the Soviet era it was the women's basketball section of Spartak Moscow. The team between 1977 and 1982 won three Ronchetti Cups and one Soviet Championship. It played one further Ronchetti Cup final in 1983, and it was the championship's runner-up in seven occasions between 1968 and 1982, second to Daugava Riga. Following the collapse of the Soviet Union the team was relocated from Moscow to nearby Podolsk and changed its name, competing in the new Russian Premier League as Concern Podolsk. WBC Dynamo- GUVD Novosibirsk (''ЖБК «Динамо-ГУВД» Новосибирск'') is a Russian women's basketball club, currently competing in the Russian Women's Basketball Premier League. Founded in 1955 as Burevestnik Novosibirsk, it was transferred into the Dynamo SS in 1966. The team won the 1985-86 Ronchetti Cup and three Soviet Championships in a row until 1988. Dynamo reached the final of the European Cup in 1987 and 1988, losing both times to AS Vicenza. Following the collapse of the Soviet Union, Dynamo Novosibirsk was the runner-up of the new Russian League in 1993 and 1994. WBC Dynamo Moscow () is a Russian professional women's basketball club playing in the Russian Premier League. Founded in 1923, in the early stages of the Soviet Championship, it won its first 6 seasons and 5 more titles up to 1958. Dynamo culminated this era reaching in 1959 the final of the inaugural edition of the European Cup, which they lost to Slavia Sofia. Women's Basketball Club Sparta&K is a professional women's basketball team based in Vidnoye, Russia that plays in FIBA’s EuroLeague Women. History It won the 2005–06 EuroCup Women and the 2006–07, 2007–08, 2008–09 and 2009–10 EuroLeague Women championship and two SuperCup Women. It is currently the only team that has won 4 consecutive EuroLeague Women titles since 1991 when European Cup For Women's Champions Clubs was rebranded as the Euroleague Women.
