Tunisian Ligue Professionnelle 2
The Ligue Professionelle 2 is the second football level in Tunisia, under Ligue Professionelle 1 which is the top level of Tunisian football. Contested by 24 clubs, divided in two groups, playing each other twice during the season, the top two teams are promoted at the end of the season, whilst the bottom two teams are relegated to the Tunisian Ligue 3. During the past few years the name of the competition has changed several times, with the league being known as ''Division d'honneur'' (Honor division). Radès () is a harbour city in Ben Arous Governorate, Tunisia. Situated south-east of the capital Tunis, some consider it a Tunis suburb, and parts of the harbor installations of Tunis are located in Radès. Hammadi Agrebi Stadium (), opened as 7 November Stadium, is a multi-purpose stadium located in the sports city of Radès, located in Radès, in the southern suburb of the city Tunis. The stadium was established in 2001 to host the 2001 Mediterranean Games. The stadium hosts the matches of the Tunisian national team, Esperance de Tunis and Club Africain. It is a covered amphitheater that can accommodate 60,000 spectators and covers 13,000 square meters. The 2017–18 Tunisian Ligue Professionnelle 1 (''Tunisian Professional League'') season was the 92nd season of top-tier football in Tunisia. The season calendar was drawn on July 24. The competition started on August 15. Teams A total of 14 teams contested the league, including 11 sides from the 2016–17 season and three promoted from the 2016–17 Ligue 2. Union Monastirienne and Stade Tunisien obtained promotion after winning their penultimate game of the season, while Olympique Médenine won the promotion playoff against Avenir de Marsa. The three teams replaced the five teams that were relegated to 2017–18 Tunisian Ligue 2 in order to reduce the number of teams from 16 to 14.
