Pacific Division (NHL)
The National Hockey League's Pacific Division was formed in 1993 as part of the Western Conference (NHL), Western Conference in a league realignment. It is also one of the two successors of the Smythe Division (the other one was the Northwest Division (NHL), Northwest Division), though of the current teams, only the Anaheim Ducks, Seattle Kraken and Vegas Golden Knights did not play in the Smythe Division. Due to subsequent realignments, three of the Pacific Division's original teams (the Calgary Flames, Edmonton Oilers, and Vancouver Canucks) left the division in 1998 but returned in 2013. 2017–18 New York Rangers Season
The 2017–18 New York Rangers season was the franchise's List of New York Rangers seasons, 91st season of play and their 92nd season overall. This season saw the Rangers struggle with inconsistency for much of the season, with the team going 4–7–2 in October. Despite going 9–3–0 in November, the team's struggles would be amplified in later months with injuries to Mika Zibanejad, Chris Kreider and Kevin Shattenkirk, the latter of whom had season-ending knee surgery. Troy Grosenick
Troy Grosenick ( ; born August 27, 1989) is an American ice hockey professional goaltender currently playing for the Lehigh Valley Phantoms of the American Hockey League (AHL), while under contract to the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League (NHL). Playing career Grosenick was born and raised in the Milwaukee/Waukesha suburb of Brookfield, Wisconsin, where he attended Brookfield East High School and graduated in 2007. He then went on to play with Team Illinois' Midget Major team for a year, and eventually ended up playing for the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders for two years before heading off to play for Union College in New York. Grosenick played for the Union Dutchmen in the NCAA Men's Division I ECAC Hockey conference.
