2017–18 Sacred Heart Pioneers Men's Basketball Team
The 2017–18 Sacred Heart Pioneers men's basketball team represented Sacred Heart University during the 2017–18 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. This was the Pioneers' 19th season of NCAA Division I basketball, all played in the Northeast Conference. The Pioneers were led by fifth-year head coach Anthony Latina and played their home games at the William H. Pitt Center in Fairfield, Connecticut. They finished the season 10–21, 5–13 in NEC play to finish in ninth place, failing to make the NEC tournament. Previous season The Pioneers finished the 2016–17 season 13–19, 8–10 in NEC play to finish in eighth place. They lost in the quarterfinals of the NEC tournament to Mount St. Mary's. Anthony Latina
Anthony Latina (born December 13, 1973) has been the men's basketball head coach at Sacred Heart University since 2013. Sacred Heart Latina is just the third head coach in Sacred Heart University men's basketball program history, succeeding Dave Bike who retired after 35 seasons at the helm. Latina was Bike's assistant coach for 8 seasons. Conte Forum
The Silvio O. Conte Forum, commonly known as Conte Forum, Kelley Rink (for ice hockey games), or simply Conte, is an 8,606-seat multi-purpose arena which opened in 1988 in Boston, Massachusetts on the campus of Boston College in the Chestnut Hill neighborhood. Conte Forum is home to the Boston College Eagles men's and women's basketball and ice hockey teams as well as the Boston College Marching Band. The 2017–18 Boston College Eagles men's basketball team represented Boston College during the 2017–18 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Eagles, led by fourth-year head coach Jim Christian, played their home games at the Conte Forum as members of the Atlantic Coast Conference. They finished the season 19–16, 7–11 in ACC play to finish in 12th place. In the ACC tournament, they defeated Georgia Tech and NC State before losing in the quarterfinals to Clemson. They received an invitation to the National Invitation Tournament where they lost in the first round to Western Kentucky.
