The 2017–18 Polish Cup was the 61st edition of the Polish Men's Volleyball Cup, Polish Volleyball Cup tournament. Trefl Gdańsk beat Skra Bełchatów, PGE Skra Bełchatów in the final (3–0) and won the Polish Cup for the second time in club history. Volleyball
Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. It has been a part of the official program of the Summer Olympic Games since Tokyo 1964. Beach volleyball was introduced to the program at the Atlanta 1996 Summer Olympics. The adapted version of volleyball at the Summer Paralympic Games is sitting volleyball. Onico Warsaw
Projekt Warsaw, officially known as PGE Projekt Warszawa, is a professional men's volleyball club based in Warsaw in central Poland. They compete in the Polish PlusLiga, the top flight of Polish volleyball. The club started as the volleyball section of the Academic Sports Association at the Warsaw University of Technology (AZS Politechnika Warszawska) in 1954. In 2005 it was transferred into a separate limited liability company and it has used various sponsor names since then. In 2017 the ''AZS Politechnika Warszawska'' name was abandoned in favour of the sponsor name ''Orico Warszawa''. Since 2019 the club's main name has been Projekt Warszawa. Marcin Janusz (born 31 July 1994) is a Polish professional volleyball player who plays as a setter for ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle and the Poland men's national volleyball team, Poland national team. Janusz is a silver medallist at the 2024 Summer Olympics and the 2022 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship, 2022 World Championship, as well as a two–time CEV Champions League, Champions League winner (2021–22 CEV Champions League, 2022, 2022–23 CEV Champions League, 2023) with ZAKSA. Artur Szalpuk
Artur Kacper Szalpuk (born 20 March 1995) is a Polish professional volleyball player who plays as an outside hitter for Projekt Warsaw and the Poland national team. Szalpuk won a gold medal at the 2018 World Championship held in Italy. Career National team On 2 April 2015, Szalpuk was called up to the Poland national team by head coach Stéphane Antiga. After the training camp in Spała he went to team B of Polish national team led by Andrzej Kowal. He took part in 1st edition of 2015 European Games, where his national team took 4th place. In July he joined team A of Poland on matches with United States during intercontinental round of World League 2015 in Kraków. He made his debut in senior team on 4 July 2015 in lost match with United States (1–3). On 30 September 2018 Poland achieved title of the 2018 World Champion. Srećko Lisinac ( sr-Cyrl, Срећко Лисинац; born 17 May 1992) is a Serbian professional volleyball player who plays as a middle blocker for the Serbia national team. Career Club In the 2013–14 Bundesliga season, Lisinac won the German Champion title with Berlin Recycling Volleys. In 2014, he moved to PGE Skra Bełchatów, where he spent 4 seasons. On 8 October 2014, his team won the Polish SuperCup. On 7 February 2016, they won the Polish Cup and Lisinac himself was named the ''Best blocker'' of the tournament. In his final season with Skra, he won his second Polish SuperCup and the 2017–18 PlusLiga, besting ZAKSA on both occasions. In 2018, Lisinac moved to Italy and joined Trentino Volley. Piotr Nowakowski (born 18 December 1987) is a Polish professional volleyball player. He is a former member of the Poland national team, a participant in 3 Olympic Games (London 2012, Rio 2016, Tokyo 2020), two–time World Champion (2014, 2018), 2009 European Champion, and the 2012 World League winner.
