2017–18 OK Liga Femenina
The 2017–18 OK Liga Femenina was the 10th season of the top-tier league of women's rink hockey in Spain. It started on 14 October 2017 and finished on 26 May 2018. Hostelcur Gijón repeated as champion and achieved their third title overall. Teams Vila-sana promoted as champion of the Nacional Catalana. Due to the resigns to promote of Borbolla and Coslada, Citylift Girona and Reus Deportiu occupied their places as second and third qualified teams of the Nacional Catalana. OK Liga Femenina is a Spanish Roller hockey (quad), rink hockey league for women. It has been held since 2008 and is the women's version of the men's OK Liga. History The OK Liga Femenina was created in 2008. In its 2008–09 OK Liga Femenina, first edition, it was played without Catalan teams due to the high costs of the travels during the competition. Competition format The championship is played through 26 matchdays in al round-robin format, a format quite common in other sports such as football. The top team when finished to play the 26 matchdays is the champion. Cerdanyola Club d'Hoquei, also known as Maheco Cerdanyola for sponsorship reasons, is a Catalan rink hockey club from Cerdanyola del Vallès (Vallès Occidental). History Established in 1936, it makes Cerdanyola the oldest rink hockey club in Spain. The men's team, which nowadays plays in the second tier, major successes were reaching the finals of the 1973 Copa del Rey and the 1985 CERS Cup, lost to Reus Deportiu and Hockey Novara respectively.
