The 2017–18 Lamar Cardinals basketball team represented Lamar University during the 2017–18 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Cardinals were led by fourth-year head coach Tic Price and played their home games at the Montagne Center in Beaumont, Texas as members of the Southland Conference. They finished the season 19–14, 11–7 in Southland play to finish in a tie for fifth place. They lost in the first round of the Southland tournament to Central Arkansas. They were invited to the CollegeInsider.com Tournament where they lost in the first round to UTSA. Previous season The Cardinals finished the 2016–17 season 19–15, 10–8 in Southland play to finish in a tie for fifth place. Tic Price
George "Tic" Price (born November 29, 1955) is an American college basketball coach. He last coached the Lamar Cardinals men's basketball team. From 2002 to 2007, he served as head coach at McNeese State. Prior to that, he served as head coach of Memphis and New Orleans. Price's daughter is Sports Illustrated model Chanel Iman, who married NFL wide receiver Sterling Shepard in 2017. He is married to the former Jamie Lynn Simms, and the couple has two children - son, Ryan, a college basketball coach who played for his father at McNeese, and daughter, Chanel. He has three granddaughters - Bella Grace Price, Cali Clay Shepard and Cassie Snow Shepard. Currently, Price works as an analyst on ESPN+ college basketball broadcasts for the Southland Conference and the University of New Orleans. 2016–17 Texas State Bobcats Men's Basketball Team
The 2016–17 Texas State Bobcats men's basketball team represented Texas State University in the 2016–17 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Bobcats, led by fourth-year head coach Danny Kaspar, played their home games at Strahan Coliseum in San Marcos, Texas as members of the Sun Belt Conference. They finished the season 22–14, 11–7 in Sun Belt play to finish in a three way tie for third place. At the Sun Belt tournament they defeated Louisiana–Monroe and UT Arlington before losing in the championship game to Troy. The 2017–18 Tulsa Golden Hurricane men's basketball team represented the University of Tulsa during the 2017–18 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Golden Hurricane, led by fourth-year head coach Frank Haith, played their home games at the Reynolds Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma as members of the American Athletic Conference.
