2017–18 HockeyAllsvenskan Season
The 2017–18 HockeyAllsvenskan season is the 13th season that the second tier of Swedish ice hockey has operated under that name. The series consists of 14 teams playing a regular season in which each team plays each other team four times, twice at home and twice away. This is followed by a series of promotion and relegation tournaments, with the teams finishing first through eight participating in promotion playoffs, and the teams finishing 13th and 14th forced to requalify to avoid relegation to the Hockeyettan. HockeyAllsvenskan
HockeyAllsvenskan (previously Allsvenskan and SuperAllsvenskan) is a professional ice hockey league, and the second-highest league in the Swedish ice hockey system (after the SHL). Since the 2009–10 season, the league consists of fourteen teams. Previous leagues called Allsvenskan During seasons 1948–49 through 1974–75 ''Allsvenskan'' was the semi-official name of the first-level league, the official name being ''Division 1 norra'' (north) and ''södra'' (south), comprising six teams each until 1955–56 and eight teams each from 1956–57 to 1973–74. In 1974–75 it was played as one Division 1 league with sixteen teams, leading up to the start in the 1975–76 season of the present SHL. Almtuna IS
Almtuna IS is a Swedish ice hockey club based in Uppsala and is currently playing in HockeyAllsvenskan, the second highest league of ice hockey in Sweden. The team maintained its place in the Allsvenskan despite suffering relegation in the 2018–19 season following the exit of IK Pantern due to economic troubles prior to the 2019–20 season. Metallåtervinning Arena
Upplands Bilforum Arena is an indoor arena located in Uppsala, Sweden, and built in 1974. It consists of three arenas: "A-hallen", "B-hallen" and "C-hallen". A-hallen is the biggest part of the arena and has a capacity of 2,800 spectators and is where Almtuna IS and Uppsala HC play their home games. B-hallen has a capacity of 350 spectators, and C-hallen has a capacity of 250. The arena opened in 1974 and was renovated following Almtuna IS's promotion to the second-tier league Allsvenskan (now named HockeyAllsvenskan), prior to the 2001–02 season. Hovet
Hovet (formerly known as Johanneshovs Isstadion or, in English: Johanneshov Stadium) is an arena located in the Johanneshov district of Stockholm (Stockholm Globe City) which is mainly used for ice hockey, concerts and corporate events. It was opened in 1955 as an outdoor arena, however a roof was added in 1962, and the arena interior has also been a subject to major renovation in 2002. Södertälje Sportklubb, also known as Södertälje SK and often referred to as SSK, is a Swedish professional ice hockey club playing in HockeyAllsvenskan, the second highest level of pro hockey in Sweden. IK Pantern
Idrottsklubben Pantern Known as IK Pantern, were a Swedish ice hockey club based in Malmö. The Club was reformed as IshockeyKlubben Pantern History IK Pantern was founded in 1959. On June 23, 1960, the association's first annual meeting was held, whereby Göran Pettersson was elected chairman with Jan Magnusson as deputy, treasurer Lars-Erik Hansson and secretary Berth Danefors with Kjell Olofsson as deputy. HC Vita Hästen
HC Vita Hästen is a Swedish hockey club, based in Norrköping, which was founded following the bankruptcy of a previous club called IK Vita Hästen. The team plays in HockeyAllsvenskan, the second tier of the Swedish ice hockey system, as of the 2014–15 season. The current team was founded as Norrköping Hockey immediately following the bankruptcy of the previous club. Norrköping Hockey soon merged with Skärblacka IF to form NSH-96, which soon thereafter took the name Hästen Hockey. Years later, in 2007, the club retook the name "Vita Hästen", but were required by the league to use "HC Vita Hästen" rather than "IK Vita Hästen" to avoid confusion with the first incarnation of "Vita Hästen".
