2017–18 Egyptian Super Cup
The 2018 Egyptian Super Cup (also known as the 2017–18 SAIB Egyptian Super Cup for sponsorship reasons) was the 15th edition of the Egyptian Super Cup, an annual football match between the winners of the previous season's Egyptian Premier League and Egypt Cup. The match is usually contested by the winners of the Premier League and the Egypt Cup, but since Al Ahly won the double (2016–17 Egyptian Premier League and 2016–17 Egypt Cup), Al Masry qualified by default as the runners-up of the cup. Egyptian Super Cup
The Egyptian Super Cup is Football in Egypt, Egyptian football's annual match contested between the champions of the Egyptian Premier League season and the holders of the Egypt Cup. If the Egyptian Premier League champions also won the Egypt Cup then the cup runners-up provide the opposition. The competition was founded in 2001, the first team to win the trophy was Zamalek SC. From the 2023-24 season the tournament is characterized by a new format, four teams will compete instead of the usual two teams. Amr Mohamed Eid El Solia (; born on 2 April 1990) is an Egyptian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Libyan Premier League club Asswehly and the Egypt national team. Ahmed Fathy Abdelmonem Ahmed Ibrahim (; born 10 November 1984) is an Egyptian former professional association football, footballer who played as a full-back (association football), full-back. Ali Maâloul (; born 1 January 1990) is a retired Tunisian footballer who used to play as a left-back for Egyptian Premier League club Al Ahly and the Tunisia national team.
