The 2017–18 season is Chacarita Juniors' 1st season back in the top-flight of Argentine football, following promotion from Primera B Nacional in 2016–17. Club Atlético Chacarita Juniors (usually known simply as Chacarita) is an Argentine association football, football club headquartered in Villa Crespo, Buenos Aires, while the stadium is located in Villa Maipú, General San Martín Partido of Greater Buenos Aires. The squad currently plays in Primera Nacional, the second division of the Argentine football league system. History The club was founded on 1 May 1906, in an anarchist Library on the boundary between the Villa Crespo and Chacarita, Buenos Aires, Chacarita neighbourhoods. After a short period of institutional crisis, the club was re-opened in 1919. The football squad promoted to Argentine Primera División, Primera División in 1924, and continued playing at the top level after football became professional in 1931. Juan Nepomuceno Álvarez Hurtado de Luna, generally known as Juan Álvarez, (27 January 1790 – 21 August 1867) was a general, long-time caudillo (regional leader) in southern Mexico, and president of Mexico for two months in 1855, following the liberals' ouster of Antonio López de Santa Anna. Javier Osvaldo Mendoza (born 2 September 1992) is an Argentine professional footballer who plays as a winger. Career Mendoza started his career in 2013 with Gimnasia y Esgrima of Primera B Nacional, appearing on the bench five times during 2012–13. Gabriel Lazarte
Gabriel Lazarte (born 7 November 1997) is an Argentine professional footballer who plays as a left-back for Primera Nacional side Club Atlético Güemes. Career Lazarte began his senior career in 2016 with Chacarita Juniors, then of Primera B Nacional. He made his professional debut on 21 February in a 3–0 defeat to Guillermo Brown, he was subbed on for the final nine minutes in place of Federico Rosso. Diego Rivero
Diego Alejandro Rivero (born 11 August 1981) is an Argentine football midfielder who plays for Atlas. Career Rivero started his career in 1998 with Chacarita Juniors in the Primera B Nacional (Argentine second division). In 1999 Chacarita were promoted to the Primera and Rivero continued to play for the club until their relegation in 2004.
