This is the first edition of the tournament. Qualifier Markéta Vondroušová won her first WTA title at the age of 17 in only her second appearance in a WTA main draw, defeating Anett Kontaveit in the final, 6–4, 7–6(8–6). Ranked no. 233, Vondroušová became the second-lowest ranked player (at the time) ever to win a WTA singles title. Markéta Vondroušová
Markéta Vondroušová (; born 28 June 1999) is a Czech professional tennis player. She has been ranked world No. 6 in singles by the Women's Tennis Association, WTA. Vondroušová has won two singles titles, including the 2023 Wimbledon Championships – Women's singles, 2023 Wimbledon Championships, the first unseeded player to win the Wimbledon Championships, Wimbledon women's singles title. She was also runner-up at the 2019 French Open – Women's singles, 2019 French Open as a teenager, and claimed a silver medal at the Tennis at the 2020 Summer Olympics – Women's singles, 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Pauline Parmentier (; born 31 January 1986) is a French former tennis player. Her career-high WTA singles ranking is 40, which she attained on 21 July 2008.
