2017 La Flèche Wallonne
The 2017 La Flèche Wallonne was a road cycling one-day race that took place between Binche and Huy in Belgium, on 19 April 2017. It was the 81st edition of the La Flèche Wallonne and the seventeenth event of the 2017 UCI World Tour. Spanish rider Alejandro Valverde () won the race atop the Mur de Huy for the fourth successive year, and a record-extending fifth victory overall. Ireland's Dan Martin finished second for , while the podium was completed by the Belgian rider, Dylan Teuns for the . Of the race's 200 starters, 166 riders finished the race. Teams As La Flèche Wallonne was a UCI World Tour event, all eighteen UCI WorldTeams were invited automatically and obliged to enter a team in the race. 2017 UCI World Tour
The 2017 UCI World Tour was a competition that included thirty-seven road bicycle racing, road cycling events throughout the 2017 in men's road cycling, 2017 men's cycling season. It was the ninth edition of the ranking system launched by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) in 2009. The competition started with the opening stage of the 2017 Tour Down Under, Tour Down Under on 17 January and concluded with the final stage of the 2017 Tour of Guangxi, Tour of Guangxi on 24 October. Slovakia's Peter Sagan was the defending champion. The 2017 edition featured ten new events. Diego Ulissi (born 15 July 1989) is an Italian road bicycle racer, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . Career Ulissi is a versatile, all-round cyclist who often wins stages and one-day races from breakaways and over hilly terrain. David Gaudu (born 10 October 1996) is a French professional cyclist who rides for UCI WorldTeam . Career In 2016, Gaudu won the Tour de l'Avenir, the most prestigious U23 cycling race. La Flèche Wallonne (, French for "The Walloon Arrow") is a men's professional cycle road race held in April each year in Wallonia, Belgium. It is part of the UCI World Tour. The first of two Belgian Ardennes classics, La Flèche Wallonne is today normally held mid-week between the Amstel Gold Race and Liège–Bastogne–Liège. At one time, La Flèche Wallonne and Liège–Bastogne–Liège were run on successive days as "Le Weekend Ardennais" (both races are organised by Amaury Sport Organisation).
