2017 Belarusian Premier League
The 2017 Belarusian Premier League was the 27th season of top-tier football in Belarus. The season began on 1 April 2017 and ended on 26 November 2017. BATE Borisov were the defending champions, having won their 11th consecutive league title and 13th overall last year, and successfully defended their crown. Teams The bottom two teams from the 2016 season, Granit Mikashevichi and Belshina Bobruisk, were relegated to the 2017 Belarusian First League. They were replaced by Gomel and Dnepr Mogilev, champions and runners-up of the 2016 Belarusian First League respectively. Belarusian Premier League
The Belarusian Premier League (, ''Vyšejšaja Liha'' or ''Vysheyshaya Liga''; ; "Top League"), also called the BETERA Premier League for sponsorship reasons, is a professional association football league in Belarus and the highest level of the Belarusian football league system. It is organized by the Belarusian Football Federation. The number of teams in the competition has varied over the years from as high as 17 (1992–93 season) to as low as 11 (2012). the league included 16 teams. Each team plays every other team twice during the course of the season. At the end of the season, the two teams with the fewest points are automatically relegated to the Belarusian First League, while the third worst team plays a promotion-relegation playoff against the third best team from the second tier. FC Dnepr Mogilev
FC Dnepr Mogilev (; ) is a Belarusian football team, playing in the city of Mogilev. Their home stadium is Spartak Stadium. History Dnepr Mogilev was founded in 1960 under the name Khimik Mogilev and began playing in the Class B (second-tier league) of the Soviet championship, which consisted of over 140 teams split into several regional zones. In 1963, the team was relegated to the third tier due to league structure reorganization, and their name was changed to Spartak Mogilev. In 1970, they dropped to the fourth tier, but the following year were brought back to the third, both times due to further league reorganizations. In 1973, the club adopted their current name, Dnepr Mogilev. Dnepr would spend all subsequent Soviet-era seasons in the third-tier league, with one exception. Borisov Arena (, ''Barysaw-Arena''; ) is a football-specific stadium in Barysaw, Belarus and is the home stadium of FC BATE Borisov and the Belarus national football team. 2016 Belarusian First League
2016 Belarusian First League was the 26th season of 2nd level football in Belarus. It started in April and finished in November 2016. Team changes from 2015 season Three best teams of 2015 Belarusian First League (Gorodeya, Isloch Minsk Raion and Krumkachy Minsk) were promoted to Belarusian Premier League. They were replaced by last-placed team of 2015 Belarusian Premier League table (Gomel). Rechitsa-2014, who finished 16th last year, relegated to the Second League. To compensate for Premier League expansion, they were replaced by three best teams of 2015 Second League ( Luch Minsk, Uzda and Torpedo Minsk). FC Minsk () is a Belarusian professional football club based in Minsk. They play in the Belarusian Premier League, the highest tier of Belarusian football. Their colours are red and navy blue. History The club was established in 2006 and was based on the Belarusian First League club '' Smena Minsk''. FC Isloch Minsk Raion or Islach (; ) is a Belarusian football club based in Minsk, although it officially represents Minsk Raion and is named after the Islach River.
