2016–17 Ukrainian Second League
The 2016–17 Ukrainian Second League was the 26th season of 3rd level professional football in Ukraine. The competition commenced on 23 July 2016 with one match from Round 1. The spring session started on 18 March 2017 with the competition ending on 2 June 2017. The fixtures were announced on 16 July 2016. Team changes Prior to the season commencing at the Conference of the Professional Football League of Ukraine, PFL in preparation for the season the committee decided to expand the competition to 17 teams. Ukrainian Second League
The Ukrainian Second League (, ''Druha Liha'') is a professional football league in Ukraine which is part of the Professional Football League of Ukraine, a collective member of the Ukrainian Association of Football. As the third tier it was established in 1992 as the Transitional League and changed its name the next season. The league is lower than the Ukrainian First League (''Persha Liha'') and the lowest level of professional football competitions in the country. Since 1996 the league, after being merged with its lower tier (in 1992–1995 there was the Third League), consists of two main regions roughly north-west and south-east. The league's relegated teams lose their professional status and return to their regional associations. The Professional Football League of Ukraine (; also known as PFL) is a non-for-profit sports association of professional football (sports) clubs also known as the Football Clubs Association "Professional Football League of Ukraine". It is a collective member of the Ukrainian Association of Football. The association members are created and act according to their statutory goals and objectives. Arena Lviv () is a football stadium in Lviv, Ukraine. It was one of the eight UEFA Euro 2012 venues, where it hosted three of the group-stage games. The "Pharma" portion of the name comes from ''pharmaceutical'' influences that are associated with the club's ownership as evident on the original logo which is in English rather than Ukrainian. Khmelnytskyi, Ukraine
Khmelnytskyi (, ) is a city in western Ukraine. Located on the Southern Bug, it serves as the administrative centre of Khmelnytskyi Oblast as well as Khmelnytskyi Raion within the oblast. 2013–14 Ukrainian Second League
The 2013–14 Ukrainian Second League was the 23rd season of 3rd level professional football in Ukraine. The competition was consolidated from two groups to one round robin competition. The list of teams was approved by Central Committee of the Professional Football League of Ukraine on 20 June 2013. Final decision was adapted by the PFL Conference on 26 June 2013.
