2016–17 Prva A Liga
The 2016–17 Prva A Liga, known as Erste košarkaške lige by sponsorship reasons, is the 11th season of the Montenegrin Basketball League, the top tier basketball league on Montenegro. Budućnost VOLI is the defending champion. Competition format Nine of the eleven teams that play the league join the regular season and play a three-round robin competition where the six first qualified teams join the playoffs with the two 2016–17 ABA League teams ( Budućnost Voli and Mornar). The last qualified team is relegated. Regular season Playoffs Budućnost VOLI and Mornar joined directly the playoffs as they participated in the 2016–17 ABA League. The finals were played with a 1-1-1-1-1 format, playing Budućnost VOLI games 1, 3 and 5 at home. The 2015–16 Prva A Liga, known as Erste košarkaške lige by sponsorship reasons, was the 10th season of the Montenegrin Basketball League, the top tier basketball league on Montenegro. The season started on November 6, 2015. Budućnost VOLI is the defending champion. KK Ibar Rožaje
KK Ibar is a professional basketball club from Rožaje, Montenegro. The team currently competes in the First Montenegrin Opportunity League, Erste Basketball League. They gained their status of a first division team by winning the second division league Prva B Liga in 2011/12. The club also competes in all leagues for younger players. KK Sutjeska
KK Sutjeska is a men's professional basketball club based in Nikšić, Montenegro. The team currently competes in Montenegrin Basketball League and regional ABA League. The club won the Montenegrin Cup in 2014. History KK Sutjeska was established in 1948. The first basic basketball elements given to the youth of Nikšić were brought by Vojislav Spasojević, a basketball coach from Belgrade. Immediately after the initiative was taken, Vule Vukalović joined the team's administrative team along with the help of international referee Dragan Jakšić—and a serious basketball team began to take form. The first competition in which KK Sutjeska participated in was in 1950, in a Montenegro-wide championship held in Cetinje, where Sutjeska beat Jedinstvo 24–20. 2016–17 ABA League
The 2016–17 ABA League was the 16th season of the ABA League, with 14 teams from Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Macedonia participating in it. It started on September 29, 2016, with the first round of the regular season and the regular season ended on March 13, 2017, followed by playoffs of the four best placed teams. The play-offs were played from March 18 till April 13, 2017. Crvena zvezda won its third ABA League championship, after beating Cedevita 3–0 in the Finals.
