2016–17 Oklahoma State Cowboys Basketball Team
The 2016–17 Oklahoma State Cowboys basketball team represented Oklahoma State University in the 2016–17 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. They were led by first-head coach Brad Underwood. The Cowboys were members of the Big 12 Conference and played their home games at Gallagher-Iba Arena in Stillwater, Oklahoma. They finished the season 20–13, 9–9 in Big 12 play to finish in fifth place. They lost to Iowa State in the quarterfinals of the Big 12 tournament. They received an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament as the No. 10 seed in the Midwest region where they lost to Michigan in the first round. On March 18, 2017, head coach Brad Underwood left the school to accept the head coaching position at Illinois after one year at OSU. Brad Underwood
Bradley Cole Underwood (born December 14, 1963) is the current head coach for the Illinois Fighting Illini men's basketball team. Previously, he served as head coach at Oklahoma State Cowgirls basketball, Oklahoma State, Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks basketball, Stephen F. Austin, Dodge City Community College, and Daytona Beach Community College and assistant coach at Western Illinois Leathernecks men's basketball, Western Illinois, Kansas State Wildcats men's basketball, Kansas State, and South Carolina Gamecocks men's basketball, South Carolina. Travis Ford
Travis Ford (born December 29, 1969) is an American former college basketball coach. He was head coach at Saint Louis University, Oklahoma State, Massachusetts, Eastern Kentucky and Campbellsville University. Prior to that, he played at the University of Missouri and the University of Kentucky. Early life Travis Ford was born in Madisonville, Kentucky on December 29, 1969. Playing career While attending Madisonville North Hopkins High School, Ford made three state tournament appearances and was Western Kentucky Player of the Year twice. Lindy Waters III (born July 28, 1997) is a Kiowa- American professional basketball player for the Detroit Pistons of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for the Oklahoma State Cowboys. He was named a finalist for the NBA 2023–24 Social Justice Champion Award for the work his foundation does to support Native American youth through sports, health and wellness. Cameron McGriff
Cameron McGriff (born September 30, 1997) is an American professional basketball player for the Indiana Mad Ants of the NBA G League. He played college basketball for the Oklahoma State Cowboys. Early life McGriff grew up mainly playing flag football. His parents, Octavia Goodman and Nate McGriff, were separated, with his father working three jobs. Valparaiso Crusaders Men's Basketball
The Valparaiso Beacons men's basketball team represents Valparaiso University in Valparaiso, Indiana. The basketball team competes in the Missouri Valley Conference, having joined that league in 2017 after 10 seasons in the Horizon League.
