2016–17 New York Knicks Season
The 2016–17 NBA season, 2016–17 New York Knicks season was the 71st season of the franchise in the National Basketball Association (NBA). On June 2, 2016, the Knicks announced Jeff Hornacek as their new head coach. In the off-season, the Knicks acquired former MVP Derrick Rose and Justin Holiday from the Chicago Bulls. Joakim Noah, a Manhattan native decided to leave the Bulls to sign with his hometown Knicks, where he grew up a fan. Following the season, Phil Jackson left as team president, Derrick Rose signed as a free agent with the 2017-18 Cleveland Cavaliers season, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Carmelo Anthony was traded to the 2017-18 Oklahoma City Thunder season, Oklahoma City Thunder. Jeff Hornacek
Jeffrey John Hornacek (; born May 3, 1963) is an American professional basketball coach and a former player who is a coaching consultant for the Utah Jazz of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He previously was the head coach for both the Phoenix Suns (2013–2016) and the New York Knicks (2016–2018). He was also an assistant coach for the Houston Rockets. He played shooting guard in the NBA from 1986 through 2000 and played collegiately at Iowa State University. Brandon Byron Jennings (born September 23, 1989) is an American former professional basketball player who played nine seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA). He is known for being the first American high school prospect to bypass college basketball to play professionally in Europe. After he graduated from Oak Hill Academy, Jennings played for professional basketball club Lottomatica Roma in Rome, Italy. After a year overseas, he declared for the 2009 NBA draft and was selected 10th overall by the Milwaukee Bucks. Jerry Lee Sichting (born November 29, 1956) is an American basketball coach and retired player of the National Basketball Association (NBA). High school career Jerry Sichting, the , point guard from Martinsville, Indiana, attended Martinsville High School. In his junior year, he led the Artesians to an IHSAA Sectional title.
