2016–17 National Cricket League
The 2016–17 National Cricket League was the eighteenth edition of the National Cricket League, a first-class cricket competition that was held in Bangladesh. The tournament started on 25 September 2016 and concluded on 6 January 2017. Khulna Division were the defending champions. Heavy rain affected the first three rounds of matches, with only two matches out of twelve ending in a result other than a draw. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced that all matches scheduled to take place on 14 October 2016 would be delayed until the weather improved. However, there was no improvement in the weather and those matches and future fixtures were postponed due to the upcoming Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). The tournament restarted on 20 December 2016 after the conclusion of the BPL. Khulna Division retained their title when they beat Dhaka Metropolis by 398 runs in their final match. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (; abbreviated as BCB), formerly known as Bangladesh Cricket Control Board, is the governing body of cricket in Bangladesh. It became an associate member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) in 1977, and a List of International Cricket Council members#Full Members, full member on 26 June 2000. Fazle Mahmud Rabbi (born 13 December 1995) is a first-class and List A cricketer from Bangladesh who is sometimes referred to on scoresheets by his nickname 'Rabbi'. He made his first-class debut for Barisal Division in 2003–04 against Dhaka Division. Sohag Gazi
Sohag Gazi (; born 5 August 1991) is a Bangladeshi international cricketer. He made his Test debut in first test during West Indies's tour of Bangladesh in 2012, taking six wickets in the second innings. He is the first and so far, only man to score a century and take a hat-trick in the same Test match and the first man to do it twice in first-class matches (the thirteenth to do it once). Domestic career A spinner, he made his first-class debut in January 2009 for Barisal against Chittagong, going on to become a regular throughout the 2009/10, 2010/11 and 2011/12 seasons. Shahriar Nafees
Shahriar Nafees Ahmed (; born: 1 May 1985) is a former Bangladeshi cricketer, who played all formats of the game, and was also a former T20I captain for Bangladesh. He made his One Day International (ODI) debut for Bangladesh in 2005 against England, and later the same year played his first Test. In 2008 he joined the Indian Cricket League (ICL) as part of the Dhaka Warriors. The members of the team were given 10-year bans by the Bangladesh Cricket Board which were lifted when they left the league. Nafees has since returned to the national team. Mosaddek Hossain Saikat (; born 10 December 1995) is a Bangladeshi cricketer who plays for the Bangladesh national cricket team and for Barisal Division in domestic cricket. He made his international debut in January 2016. He has played across all the three formats. Under-19 career Mosaddek is a right-handed batsman and off-spin bowler. He played for Bangladesh in two ICC Under-19 World Cups: in Australia in 2012 and in Abu Dhabi in 2013–14.
