The 2016–17 KTFF Süper Lig season was the 57th season of the Süper Lig in Northern Cyprus. Format After the expansion of the league to 16 teams, in the 2016–17 season the three last qualified teams were relegated to the 1. Lig. Süper Lig (Northern Cyprus)
The Süper Lig (, ''Super League''), also known as Trendyol Süper Lig for sponsorship reasons, is a professional association football league in Turkey and the highest level of the Turkish football league system. In the 2023–2024 season, twenty clubs compete, where a champion is decided and three clubs are promoted from, and another four relegated to the 1. Lig. The season runs from August to May, with each club playing 36 matches. Matches are played Friday through Monday. Run by the Turkish Football Federation, the league succeeded the Turkish Football Championship and the National Division, both being former top-level national competitions. The Süper Lig is currently 9th in the UEFA coefficient ranking of leagues based on club performances in European competitions over the last five years. Gönyeli Spor Kulübü
Gönyeli (; ) is a town in Cyprus, near the capital city Nicosia. It is '' de facto'' under the control of Northern Cyprus. Over the years the town has merged with North Nicosia, making it connurbated with the city. Its population is 11,671. History Before the Ottoman conquest of Cyprus in 1571, the area consisted of empty fields. Upon the conquest, two families from Anatolia that of Kurt Ali from Anamur and Mehmet Efendi from Aksaray, settled here and founded Gönyeli. Over time, as the families grew in population, the village grew as a Turkish-speaking farming community. Gönyeli was one of the first towns to be captured following the Turkish invasion of Cyprus in 1974. Culture The football club Gönyeli Spor Kulübü is based in Gönyeli. Alsancak is a neighbourhood in the municipality and district of Konak, İzmir Province, Turkey. Its population is 5,581 (2022). It is part of the historic center of the city of İzmir. Girne District
Girne District () is one of six districts of Northern Cyprus. It is divided between two sub-districts: Girne Sub-district and the Çamlıbel Sub-district. Its capital is Kyrenia, also known by its Turkish name, as Girne. Its '' de facto'' population was 73,577 in the 2011 census. Its Governor is Mehmet Envergil. It has the same boundaries as the Kyrenia District of Cyprus, a distinct political entity and local government-in-exile which claims the same territory. Bostancı () is a neighborhood in the municipality and district of Kadıköy, Istanbul Province, Turkey. Description Bostancı is on the Anatolian side of Istanbul, on the shore of the Sea of Marmara.
