2016–17 Egyptian Super Cup
The 2017 Egyptian Super Cup was the 14th edition of the Egyptian Super Cup, an annual football match between the winners of the previous season's Egyptian Premier League and Egypt Cup. The match is usually contested by the winners of the Premier League and the Egypt Cup, Al Ahly won the 2015–16 Egyptian Premier League, Zamalek won the 2016 Egypt Cup. The match was played for 2nd time on international soil at the Mohammed Bin Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Egyptian Super Cup
The Egyptian Super Cup is Football in Egypt, Egyptian football's annual match contested between the champions of the Egyptian Premier League season and the holders of the Egypt Cup. If the Egyptian Premier League champions also won the Egypt Cup then the cup runners-up provide the opposition. The competition was founded in 2001, the first team to win the trophy was Zamalek SC. From the 2023-24 season the tournament is characterized by a new format, four teams will compete instead of the usual two teams. Ahmed Elsayed Ali Elsayed Hegazy (; born 25 January 1991), simply known as Ahmed Hegazi, is an Egyptian professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Saudi First Division League club Neom and captains the Egypt national team. Walid Soliman Said Ebid (; born 1 December 1984) is an Egyptian retired professional footballer who last played as a winger and an attacking midfielder for Egyptian Premier League club Al Ahly SC and the Egypt national team. Abdallah Mahmoud Said Bekhit (; born 13 July 1985) is an Egyptian professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder for Egyptian Premier League club Zamalek In May 2018 he was named in Egypt's squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. Sherif Ekramy
Sherif Ekramy Ahmed Ahmed El-Shahat (; born 10 July 1983) is an Egyptian footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Pyramids FC. He has also played for the Egypt national team. An Al Ahly youth product, Ekramy moved to Dutch club Feyenoord in 2005. At Feyenoord he received little playing time and was loaned to Ankaragücü in 2008. After four years at Feyenoord he returned to Egypt signing with El Gouna FC, whom he helped win promotion to the top flight for the 2009–10 season. Ahmed Refaat
Ahmed El Sayed Refaat Ahmed (; 20 June 1993 – 6 July 2024) was an Egyptian footballer who played mainly as a winger. He made his debut for ENPPI in 2013, coming from the youth academy, and quickly established a place for himself in the club's starting line-ups. He joined Zamalek in 2016, and won the Egyptian Super Cup during his spell with the club, before joining his former club ENPPI and Al Ittihad on loan. In 2020, he joined Al Masry but depated a year later to join newly-promoted side Future (later renamed Modern Future), guiding the team to win the inaugural Egyptian League Cup trophy in 2022, and to qualify for the CAF Confederation Cup in 2023.
