2016–17 Damehåndboldligaen
The 2016–17 Damehåndboldligaen (known as the ''Primo Tours Ligaen'' for sponsorship reasons) was the 81st season of the Danish Women's Handball League, Damehåndboldligaen, Denmark's premier handball league. Team Esbjerg were the defending champions. Nykøbing Falster Håndboldklub won their first title ever, when they beat København Håndbold in the final 27-25. Skanderborg Håndbold were relegated, as they finished last in the regular season. This was the first time in 10 years, that a team from outside Jutland won the title. Danish Women's Handball League
The Kvindeligaen () is the top professional league for Danish women's handball clubs. It is administered by the Danish Handball Federation, and the winners are recognized as Danish champions. The league was previously called Bambusa Kvindeligaen for sponsorship reasons. It has previously been known as HTH GO Ligaen, Primo Tours Ligaen, Boxer Dameligaen, TOMS Ligaen and GuldBageren Ligaen. The current title holder is Team Esbjerg (2024). The European Handball Federation (EHF) ranks the Danish league 4th in the coefficients of leagues based on performances in European competitions over the past seasons. TTH Holstebro is a men's handball club from Holstebro, Denmark. The team is playing in the Danish Primo Tours Ligaen and play their home matches in Gråkjær Arena. History The club was founded on 1 May 2000, when Holstebro Håndbold 90 and Tvis KFUM merged their first teams to create the new club. In 2002 disagreements between HH90 and Tvis KFUM nearly let to the dissolvement of the club. A general assemply was called to dissilve the club, but an agreement between the two founding clubs was found last minute, which separated the elite team as its own legal entity. In 2008 the club won their first ever trophy, when they won the Danish Men's Handball Cup. In 2016 the club changed the name from 'Team Tvis Holstebro' to 'TTH Holstebro'. The reason for the change was that the sponsors was primarily based in Holstebro and wanted that town to have more focus compared to the relatively smaller Tvis. Randers HK is a women's handball club based in Randers, Denmark. They competes in the Danish 1st Division for the 2024/25 season and plays their home matches in Arena Randers.
