2016 Woodstock Winton SuperSprint
The 2016 Woodstock Winton SuperSprint was a motor racing event for V8 Supercars, held on the weekend of 20 to 22 May 2016. The event was held at Winton Motor Raceway in Winton, Victoria, and consisted of one race of 120 kilometres and one race of 200 km in length. It was the fifth event of fourteen in the 2016 International V8 Supercars Championship and hosted Races 10 and 11 of the season. The event was the 29th running of the Winton SuperSprint. Tim Slade dominated the event, winning both races and also taking pole position for Race 10. The Race 10 win was Slade's first in the series. Mark Winterbottom finished on the podium in both races, with a third and a second place, to take the championship lead at the end of the event. Scott McLaughlin led the championship after Race 10 where he finished second to Slade, but he could only finish eleventh in Race 11. Winton, Victoria
Winton is a locality near Benalla, Victoria, Australia. The town of Winton was proclaimed on 25 February 1861. At the , Winton had a population of 108. It is located in the Glenrowan wine region within 50 km of some of the wineries of North East Victoria, as well as being close to other local attractions including Glenrowan, the site of the famous Bushranger Ned Kelly's last stand. Enduro Cup
The Enduro Cup (formally known as the Pirtek Enduro Cup for sponsorship reasons), was an award given out to the highest points scorers over the three endurance events in Supercars; the Sandown 500, Bathurst 1000 and the Gold Coast 600. Format Qualifying for the Sandown 500 involved a twenty-minute session followed by a pair of 60 km "qualifying races" held on Saturday. The grid for the first race was based on the qualifying session; the grid for the second race was based on the results of the first. The results of the second race determined the grid for the main race on Sunday. Co-drivers were mandated to compete in the first of the qualifying races with the main driver in the second. Nick Percat
Nick Percat (born 14 September 1988) is an Australian racing driver who currently races in the Repco Supercars Championship, driving for Walkinshaw Andretti United in the No. 2 Holden ZB Commodore. He won the Bathurst 1000 at his first attempt, co-driving for Garth Tander for the Holden Racing Team. Percat attended Sacred Heart College in South Australia. Scott Robert Pye (born 8 January 1990) is an Australian professional racing driver. He currently competes in the Repco Supercars Championship, and drives the No. 20 Holden ZB Commodore for Team 18. Racing career Early days Pye started out in go-karts, winning six state championships. DJR Team Penske
Dick Johnson Racing (formerly DJR Team Penske), is Australia's oldest motor racing team competing in the Supercars Championship. The team currently fields the #11 and #17 Ford Mustang GTs for Anton de Pasquale and Will Davison respectively. Rick Kelly
Rick Kelly (born 17 January 1983) is an Australian professional racing driver who previously competed in the Supercars Championship. He last drove the No. 15 Ford Mustang GT for Kelly Racing. Previously, he drove for the HSV Dealer Team with whom he won the Bathurst 1000 alongside Greg Murphy in 2003 and 2004. Chris Pither (born 3 December 1986) is a New Zealand professional racing driver, currently competing in the Supercars Championship driving the No. 22 Holden ZB Commodore for PremiAir Racing. Richie Stanaway
Richie Stanaway (born 24 November 1991) is a racing car driver from New Zealand. Career New Zealand Born in Tauranga, Stanaway was originally from a motocross background, before making the switch to speedway at the age of twelve. Following that came a brief foray into kart racing prior to making his formula car debut in 2007 after being selected for the New Zealand SpeedSport Scholarship. Cameron Waters (born 3 August 1994) is an Australian motor racing driver who competes in the Repco Supercars Championship. He currently drives the No. 6 Ford Mustang GT for Tickford Racing.
