2016 SAFF Women's Championship Squads
The 2016 SAFF Women's Championship will be the fourth edition of the SAFF Women's Championship, the biennial international women's football championship contested by the national teams of the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF). The tournament will take place in India from 26 December 2016 to 4 January 2017, after the country was awarded hosting rights in January 2016. This will be the first time India will have hosted the SAFF Women's Championship. Only players in these squads were eligible to take part in the tournament. 2016 SAFF Women's Championship
The 2016 SAFF Women's Championship was the 4th edition of the SAFF Women's Championship, the biennial international women's football championship contested by the national teams of the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF). The tournament began in India from 26 December 2016 and went on until 4 January 2017. The country was awarded hosting rights in January 2016. This was the first time India had hosted the SAFF Women's Championship. The defending champions coming into the tournament were India, who won the three previous tournaments. By the end of the tournament, India emerged as champions again, defeating Bangladesh in the final 3–1. Participating teams Apart from the hosts, India, six other South Asian teams participated in the tournament. On 3 November 2016 it was announced that Pakistan would not participate in the tournament. Shamsun Nahar, also known as Shamsun Nahar Sr. ( bn, শামছুন্নাহার; born 31 January 2003), is a Bangladeshi women's association football defender who plays as a left-back for Bashundhara Kings Women and the Bangladesh women's national football team. She previously played for the Bangladesh women's national under-17 football team and was twice a member of the winning Bangladesh team in the AFC U-14 Girls' Regional Championship – South and Central, held in Nepal in 2015 and in Tajikistan in 2016. Rawshan Ara (3 August 1940– 24 June 2010), was a Bangladeshi film actress. Before joining film, She was employed in the doctor's profession. Poet Bande Ali Mia was her brother-in-law and Renowned film actress Suchitra Sen was her friend who also classmates of her school life. In 1959, she made her film debut in the movie Matir Pahar. Saru Limbu (Nepali: सरु लिम्बु; born 6 March 1999) is a Nepali professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for the Indian Women's League club Kickstart FC and the Nepali Women's National Team.
