2016 FINA Diving World Cup
The 2016 FINA Diving World Cup took place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 19 to 24 February 2016. It was the 20th edition of the Diving World Cup, and the first time being hosted by Brazil. The venue was the Maria Lenk Aquatic Centre. The meet served as a test event for the 2016 Olympic Games. The Rio Olympic Games Organising Committee provided mosquito repellent and performed daily cleaning of the venue in response to concerns over the 2015–2016 Zika virus epidemic. Qin Kai (; born January 31, 1986) is a Chinese diver. He competed for Team China at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, and the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Career At the 2001 World Junior Championships, he won the gold on the 3m Springboard and the silver medal on the Platform. At the 2006 National Championships, he won the silver medal on the springboard. At the 2006 World Cup, he won the gold on the 3m springboard. Pamela Lina Ware (born February 12, 1993) is a Canadian diver. She is currently partnered with Jennifer Abel for synchronized diving. Wu Minxia
Wu Minxia (; born 10 November 1985) is a retired Chinese diver, specializing in the 1 metre and 3 metre springboard, and synchronized 3 metre springboard events. Entering her first major championship in 2001, Wu represented China at every Asian Games, Olympic Games and FINA World Aquatics Championships through 2016. She is an eight-time world champion, and a five-time Olympic and Asian champion, making her one of the most decorated divers in history. Melissa Paige Li Kun Wu (born 3 May 1992) is an Australian diving (sport), diver who has represented Australia at five Olympic Games, winning a silver medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics, 2008 Olympic Games and a bronze medal at the 2020 Olympic Games. Ren Xi ( zh, t=任茜, p=Rén Qiàn; born 20 February 2001), known internationally as Ren Qian, is a Chinese diving (sport), diver. She won a silver medal in the Diving at the 2015 World Aquatics Championships, women's 10 m platform at the Diving at the 2015 World Aquatics Championships, 2015 World Aquatics Championships, and then followed it with a gold at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, becoming the youngest champion to top the podium (aged 15). Jennifer Abel
Jennifer Abel (born August 23, 1991) is a Canadian former diver. She is currently partnered with Mélissa Citrini-Beaulieu for synchronized diving. She won an Olympic bronze medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics in the 3 m synchro diving event with Émilie Heymans and a silver medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics in the same event with Melissa Citrini-Beaulieu. Abel is a four-time Commonwealth Games champion in the 1 m and 3 m synchronized springboard; and is also a three-time Pan American Games champion in the 3 m springboard and 3 m synchronized springboard. Daniel Goodfellow (born 19 October 1996) is a retired British diver, active in the elite sport since 2011, and in the senior ranks from 2013-2025. A close contemporary of Olympic and world champions Tom Daley and Jack Laugher, Goodfellow competed with both in senior synchronised and team events for Great Britain and England. With Daley, he won bronze in the 10 metre synchronised platform event at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio.
