2016 Eschborn–Frankfurt – Rund Um Den Finanzplatz
The 2016 Eschborn-Frankfurt – Rund um den Finanzplatz was the 54th edition of the Eschborn-Frankfurt – Rund um den Finanzplatz, a semi-classic cycling race in Germany. It was held, as customary on Tag der Arbeit (), 1 May. The race started in Eschborn and finished in Frankfurt, covering a total distance of , and was a part of the 2016 UCI Europe Tour. The race was won by Norwegian classics specialist Alexander Kristoff for , in a bunch sprint ahead of Maximiliano Richeze () and 's Sam Bennett. Teams Twenty-three teams were invited to take part in the race. These included four UCI WorldTeams, eleven UCI Professional Continental teams and eight UCI Continental teams. 2016 UCI Europe Tour
The 2016 UCI Europe Tour was the twelfth season of the UCI Europe Tour. The 2016 season began on 28 January 2016 with the Vuelta a Mallorca, Trofeo Santanyí-Ses Salines-Campos and ended on 23 October 2016 with the Chrono des Nations. French rider Nacer Bouhanni (), who scored 721 points in the 2015 UCI Europe Tour, 2015 edition, was the defending champion of the 2015 UCI Europe Tour. Throughout the season, points were awarded to the top finishers of stages within stage races and the final general classification standings of each of the stages races and one-day events. The quality and complexity of a race also determined how many points were awarded to the top finishers; the higher the UCI rating of a race, the more points were awarded. Maurits Lammertink
Maurits Lammertink (born 31 August 1990) is a Dutch former cyclist, who rode professionally in road bicycle racing and cyclo-cross between 2011 and 2021. During his professional career, Lammertink took three victories – he won a stage of the 2015 Tour du Limousin, the general classification of the 2016 Tour de Luxembourg, and a stage of the 2017 Tour of Belgium. He also contested four Grand Tours between 2013 and 2018. In June 2021, Lammertink was struck by a scooter while with family members near his home in Hengelo, suffering a brain haemorrhage and multiple other injuries. When interviewed by ''Algemeen Dagblad'' in 2024, Lammertink stated that he had been left with permanent brain damage as a result of the incident. Yves Lampaert (born 10 April 1991) is a Belgian professional road racing cyclist, who rides for UCI WorldTeam . Career Lampaert practiced judo from the age of six, earned a Black belt (martial arts), black belt, but at the age of 17 started training in cycling.
