2015–16 Tunisian Ligue Professionnelle 2
The 2015–16 Tunisian Ligue Professionnelle 2 (Tunisian Professional League) season was the 61st season since Tunisia's independence. Teams The 20 teams will be drawn into two groups of 10 teams each. The first three of each group will qualify to the promotion playoff, while the last of each group will be relegated to Ligue 3. The two teams that finish the regular season in the 9th position will play a relegation playoff, a single match to determine who is maintained in Ligue 2 and who is relegated to Ligue 3. US Monastir, AS Gabès and AS Djerba were the three relegated teams at the end of the 2014-15 Ligue 1 season. On the other hand, STIR Zarzouna, US Siliana and US Tataouine were the three promoted teams at the end of the 2014–15 Ligue 3 season. Tunisian Ligue Professionnelle 2
The Ligue Professionelle 2 is the second football level in Tunisia, under Ligue Professionelle 1 which is the top level of Tunisian football. Contested by 24 clubs, divided in two groups, playing each other twice during the season, the top two teams are promoted at the end of the season, whilst the bottom two teams are relegated to the Tunisian Ligue 3. During the past few years the name of the competition has changed several times, with the league being known as ''Division d'honneur'' (Honor division). Korba, Tunisia
Korba ( '), ancient Curubis, is a town in Tunisia on the eastern shore of the Cap Bon. It was the place of exile of the Carthaginian bishop Cyprian in the year leading up to his martyrdom. Modern Korba is in the Nabeul Governorate and had a population of 48,314 in 2014. History Ancient geographers and itineraries mention the town Curubis on the African coast between Clupea (modern Kelibia) and Neapolis (modern Nabeul). The 2016–17 Tunisian Ligue Professionnelle 1 (''Tunisian Professional League'') season was the 91st season of top-tier football in Tunisia. The competition started on 8 September 2016. The defending champions from the previous season were Étoile du Sahel. Esperance de Tunis, the champions, drew the highest average home attendance of all clubs in the league with 11,000. Teams A total of 16 teams contested the league, including 13 sides from the 2015–16 season and three promoted from the 2015–16 Ligue 2. Avenir de Gabès was the first to obtain promotion, followed by Olympique Béja and finally Union de Tataouine. The competition began on 13 August 2014 and ended on 2 June 2015. The defending champions from the previous season were Espérance de Tunis. Teams A total of 16 teams contested the league, including 13 sides from the 2013–14 season and three promoted from the 2013–14 Tunisian Ligue Professionnelle 2. Association de Djerba was the first to obtain promotion, followed by Avenir de Gabès and finally Espérance de Zarzis one game before the end of the promotion group league.
