Stefano Mauri (; born 8 January 1980) is an Italian former footballer, who spent most of his career with Lazio, also serving as the club's captain. A versatile midfielder, he was capable of playing as an attacking midfielder, as a central midfielder, and as a winger, or even in a more advanced role, as a second striker, courtesy of his dribbling skills, precise passing, and playmaking ability. Edson René Braafheid (born 8 April 1983) is a Dutch former professional footballer who currently works as a player representative at the Tevreden Group. Braafheid started his career as a defender with Eredivisie side Utrecht in 2003, before moving on to FC Twente in 2007 on a free transfer. He was signed by German Bundesliga club Bayern Munich in 2009 for €2 million. Patricio Gabarrón Gil (born 17 April 1993), known as Patric, is a Spanish professional footballer who plays for Serie A club Lazio. Stefan de Vrij (; born 5 February 1992) is a Dutch professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for club Inter Milan and the Netherlands national team. De Vrij began his career at his local club VV Spirit, and debuted as a professional for Feyenoord at age 17. Wesley Theodorus Hoedt (; born 6 March 1994) is a Dutch professional footballer who plays as a centre back for Saudi Pro League club Al-Shabab. The 2016–17 season was the 117th season in Società Sportiva Lazio's history and their 29th consecutive season in the top-flight of Italian football. Lazio competed in Serie A, finishing fifth, and in the Coppa Italia, where they finished as runners-up to Juventus, losing the final 2–0. Following the extremely brief tenure of Marcelo Bielsa during pre-season, Simone Inzaghi, who had acted as interim coach following Stefano Pioli's sacking in the second half of the 2015–16 season, assumed the post permanently.
