2015–16 Polish Cup
The 2015–16 Polish Cup was the sixty-second season of the annual Polish football knockout tournament. It began on 18 July 2015 with the first matches of the preliminary round and ended on 2 May 2016 with the final at the National Stadium in Warsaw. Winners of the competition qualified for the qualifying tournament of the 2016–17 UEFA Europa League. The 2015–16 season brought several changes into the competition format determined by the 2014 reform of II liga (3rd tier), which decreased the number of teams playing in the league from 36 to 18 and the number of teams participating in the Polish Cup from 86 to 68. The tournament had one preliminary round (instead of two in previous seasons), in which also the 6 lowest-ranked I liga (2nd tier) teams entered. Legia Warsaw successfully defended the Polish Cup champion title, winning the final game 1–0 against Lech Poznań and secured their eighteenth title. National Stadium, Warsaw
The Stadion Narodowy im. Kazimierza Górskiego (, en, Kazimierz Górski's National Stadium), known for sponsorship reasons as the PGE Narodowy since 2015 (with patron being added in 2021), is a retractable roof football stadium located in Warsaw, Poland. It is used mostly for concerts and football matches and is the home stadium of Poland national football team. With a seating capacity of 58,580, the stadium is the largest association football arena in Poland. Its construction was started in 2008 and was finished in November 2011. It is located on the site of the former Stadion Dziesięciolecia, at the Zieleniecka Avenue in Praga Południe district, near the city center. Zagłębie Lubin S.A. () is a Polish professional football club based in Lubin. Founded in 1945 as ''OMTUR Lubin'', the club competes in the Ekstraklasa. History The football team was founded in 1945 as OMTUR Lubin by local members of the ''Youth Organization of the Association of Workers’ Universities'' (''Organizacja Młodzieży Towarzystwa Uniwersytetów Robotniczych, OMTUR''). GKS Bełchatów
GKS Bełchatów is a Polish professional football club based in Bełchatów that currently plays in the IV liga. History GKS Bełchatów entered Poland's Klasa A in 1977 under the name of Węgiel Brunatny Bełchatów, and gained promotion to the III liga in the 1981–82 season. It took the club another seven years to rise to the II liga (1986/1987 season), before winning a place in the top-tier I liga in 1992. After another spell in II liga, the club again won promotion to the I liga at the end of the 2004–05 season. The club finished the 2005–06 season in 10th place, with 37 points. Zawisza Bydgoszcz () is a sports club from Bydgoszcz, Poland, founded in 1946. Its name commemorates a legendary Polish 15th-century knight, Zawisza Czarny (Zawisza the Black).
