2015–16 Nemzeti Bajnokság I
The 2015–16 Nemzeti Bajnokság I, also known as NB I, is the 117th season of top-tier football in Hungary. The league is officially named ''OTP Bank Liga'' for sponsorship reasons. The season began 17 July 2015 and will conclude on 8 May 2016. Videoton FC, Videoton are the defending champions having won their second Hungarian championship last season. Last season an extra four teams were relegated to the Nemzeti Bajnokság III. Győri ETO FC, Győr had financial and licensing issues. Kecskeméti TE, Kecskemét, Pécsi MFC, Pécs and Nyíregyháza Spartacus, Nyíregyháza all had licensing issues. Therefore, from this season twelve teams compete for the championship title, playing 33 rounds. This season was played with 12 teams after reduced from 16 in 2014–15. Teams Dunaújváros PASE, Dunaújváros and Lombard-Pápa TFC, Pápa finished the 2014–15 Nemzeti Bajnokság I, 2014–15 season in the last two places and thus were relegated to 2015–16 Nemzeti Bajnokság II, NB II ... Nemzeti Bajnokság I
The Nemzeti Bajnokság (, ), also known as NB I or Fizz Liga after its title sponsor, OTP Bank's webshop subsidiary, is a professional association football league in Hungary and the highest level of the Hungarian football league system. Twelve teams compete in the league, playing each other three times, once at home, once away, and the third match is played at the stadium that the last match was not played at. At the end of the season, the top team enters the qualification rounds for the UEFA Champions League, while the runner-up and the third place, together with the winner of the Magyar Kupa enter the UEFA Conference League qualification rounds. The bottom two clubs are relegated to Nemzeti Bajnokság II, the second-level league, to be replaced by the winner and the runner up of the Nemzeti Bajnokság II, NB II.
