2015–16 Iraqi First Division League
The 2015–16 Iraqi First Division League. Al-Hussein ended as champions of the division for the first time in their history, and Al-Bahri were runners-up on the goals scored rule. Both teams were promoted to the 2016–17 Iraqi Premier League. Format League consists of four different stages. The first stage ended in April and the second stage ended in May; both of these rounds consisted of multiple group stages that were based on geographical position. 12 teams qualified for the Elite Stage. The Elite Stage started on June 6 and ended on June 14; it consisted of three groups of four, with the three group winners and the best runner-up reaching the Golden Stage (which starts on 13 July and ends on 19 July). The two top teams in the Golden Stage are promoted to the 2016–17 Iraqi Premier League and the top team is the Iraqi First Division League champion. Iraqi Premier Division League
The Iraqi Premier Division League () is the second-highest division of the Iraqi football league system after the Iraq Stars League. The league is contested by 20 clubs and is operated by the Iraq Football Association (IFA). Each season, the two top-finishing teams in the Premier Division League are automatically promoted to the Stars League, while the third-placed team enters a promotion play-off. The two lowest-finishing teams are relegated to the First Division League. From the 2023–24 season, the competition's name was changed from First Division League to Premier Division League. In the 2023–24 season, Diyala won the title and was promoted alongside runners-up Al-Karma. Al-Minaa are the record holders in the tournament having won three titles. Al-Sinaat Al-Kahrabaiya
Al-Sinaat Al-Kahrabaiya Sport Club (), is an Iraqi football team based in Baghdad, that plays in the second tier Iraqi Premier Division League. History Al-Sinaat Al-Kahrabaiya Sport Club was founded on 1 August 2009 by Ministry of Industry and Minerals, and was officially registered in the Ministry of Youth and Sports in 2011. Only six years later they qualified to play in the Iraqi Premier League after winning the 2016–17 Iraqi First Division League as a runner-up under the leadership of coach Kadhim Yousif. 2015–16 Iraq FA Cup
The 2015–16 Iraq FA Cup was the 27th edition of the Iraqi knockout football cup as a club competition, the main domestic cup in Iraqi football. It was the second edition held after the 2002–03 edition, although the 2012–13 one was abandoned. At first, thirty-nine teams were set to participate in the competition, but after the withdrawals of many of the Iraqi Premier League teams, only days before the Round of 32, clubs including Al-Shorta, Al-Talaba, Al-Hudood, Al-Sinaa, Naft Maysan, Al-Najaf, Zakho, and Al-Kahrabaa, a total of twelve teams from the Iraqi Premier League and nineteen from Iraqi First Division League ended up participating. It began on 5 October 2015 and ended on 29 May 2016 with the final at the Al-Shaab Stadium in Baghdad. The 2015–16 Iraqi Premier League (known as the Fuchs Premier League for sponsorship reasons) was the 42nd season of the Iraqi Premier League since its establishment in 1974. The season started on 15 September 2015 and concluded on 22 May 2016. Al-Zawraa won a record 13th Iraqi Premier League title, finishing one point ahead of defending champions Naft Al-Wasat. Al-Zawraa went through all 24 matches without a single defeat: the seventh time that a team has won the league undefeated since the league's inception in 1974. Al-Qasim Sport Club () is an Iraqi football club based in Al-Qasim City, Babil, that competes in the Iraq Stars League. History Al-Qasim Club was founded in 1973 by a group of young athletes. The team have been in the Iraqi First Division League for many years and have not been able to qualify for the Premier League due to lack of financial support and lack of a good stadium. In the 2015–16 season, the team strengthened their ranks with good players and was about to qualify for the Premier League, but finished second behind Al-Bahri in Elite Stage, and Al-Bahri qualified. Uday Shehab
Uday Shehab Ahmad (; born 14 June 1997) is an Iraqi footballer who plays as a defender for Al-Shorta in the Iraqi Premier League. Club career Shehab started his career with Al-Mosul in the 2011–12 Iraqi Elite League, scoring his first goal as a 15-year old against Samaraa on 29 July 2012. After footballing activity in Mosul stopped due to ISIS, Shehab moved to Karah to compete in the Kurdistan League. He joined Ghaz Al-Shamal in 2016 to compete in the 2015–16 Iraqi First Division League Elite Stage, however after playing in a match against Brayati his transfer to Ghaz Al-Shamal was deemed illegitimate due to the transfer window having ended and therefore Ghaz Al-Shamal were awarded a 3–0 loss for the match and Shehab was not allowed to play for them anymore. Al-Hussein () is an Iraqi professional football club based in Baghdad. They were crowned champions of the 2015–16 Iraqi First Division League which promoted them to the Iraqi Premier League for the first time in their history.
