2015–16 Everton F.C. Season
The 2015–16 season was Everton's 62nd consecutive season in the top flight of English football and their 138th year in existence. Everton participated in the Premier League, FA Cup and League Cup. The season covers the period from 1 July 2015 to 30 June 2016. Although the club managed to reach the semi-finals in both the FA Cup and League Cup, their overall performance did not meet expectations. As a result, prior to its last Premier League match of the season, the club sacked third year manager Roberto Martínez. English Football League System
The English football league system, also known as the football pyramid, is a series of interconnected leagues for men's association football clubs in England, with five teams from Wales, one from Guernsey, one from Jersey and one from the Isle of Man also competing. The system has a hierarchical format with promotion and relegation between leagues at different levels, allowing even the smallest club the theoretical possibility of ultimately rising to the very top of the system, the Premier League. Séamus Coleman
Séamus Coleman ( ; born 11 October 1988) is an Irish professional footballer who plays as a right-back for and captains both club Everton and the Republic of Ireland national team. Originally a Gaelic footballer, Coleman started his association football career with St Catherine's in Killybegs. He joined League of Ireland side Sligo Rovers in 2006 after impressing in a friendly against them. He then made the move to England to sign for Everton in January 2009 for a £60,000 fee. In 2010, he spent half a season on loan with Blackpool, helping them win promotion via the Championship play-offs, before returning to Everton where he has made over 400 appearances. Phil Jagielka
Philip Nikodem Jagielka ( or ;, ; born 17 August 1982) is an English former professional Association football, footballer who played as a centre-back. He is primarily known for his lengthy tenures at Sheffield United and Everton. Jagielka came up through the youth ranks at Sheffield United F.C., Sheffield United. He made his first-team debut in 2000. He helped them achieve top-flight status for the 2006–07 Sheffield United F.C. season, 2006–07 season. Leighton Baines
Leighton John Baines (born 11 December 1984) is an English football coach and former professional footballer who played as a left-back. He is currently the assistant manager of Premier League club Everton. Baines started his career with Wigan Athletic, and was part of the team that won the Second Division in the 2002–03 season and was a runner-up in the 2004–05 Championship and the 2006 League Cup final. Tony Hibbert
Anthony James Hibbert (born 20 February 1981) is an English former professional footballer. Originally a midfielder, Hibbert converted to play at right-back. He spent his entire professional career with Everton, having joined the club in 1991. He made his senior debut for Everton in 2001, and went on to make 328 appearances for the club in all competitions. With Hibbert being a one-club man for his entire career, coupled with his down-to-earth demeanour, he earned a cult hero status among Everton fans.
