2015–16 División De Honor De Waterpolo
The 2015–16 season of the División de Honor de Waterpolo was the 93rd season of top-tier water polo in Spain since its inception in 1925. Twelve teams competed for this season. The season comprises regular season and championship playoff. The regular season started in October 2015 and finished on April 23, 2016. Top eight teams at standings when finishing regular season play the championship playoff. The championship playoff started on 3/4 May with the quarter-finals series. Quarter finals, semifinals and Final are played to the best of 3 matches. Atlètic-Barceloneta won its eleventh title in a row and sixteenth overall after defeating AstralPool Sabadell in the Championship Final series 2–1. Water Polo
Water polo is a competitive sport, competitive team sport played in water between two teams of seven players each. The game consists of four quarters in which the teams attempt to score goals by throwing the water polo ball, ball into the opposing team's goal (sport), goal. The team with more goals at the end of the game wins the match. Each team is made up of six field players and one Goalkeeper (water polo), goalkeeper. Excluding the goalkeeper, players participate in both offensive and defensive roles. It is typically played in an all-deep swimming pool, pool where players cannot touch the bottom. A game consists mainly of the players swimming to move about the pool, treading water (mainly using the eggbeater kick), passing the ball, and shooting at the goal. Víctor Gutiérrez (water Polo)
Víctor Gutiérrez Santiago (; born March 6, 1991, in Madrid) is a Spanish water polo player and a member of the national team. He is member of Spanish Socialist Workers' Party, PSOE. He started playing water polo for the Club de Natación La Latina. At age 18, he joined the Real Canoe de Madrid team, achieving vice-championship at the la Copa del Rey in 2013. He holds the title of European vice-champion under 18, world vice-champion under 20, and vice-champion at Copa del Rey and Supercopa de España in 2013. He has played internationally numerous times with Spain men's national water polo team and he was originally selected as a member of the Spanish Olympics team for the 2016 Summer Olympics, but was finally not part of the team.
