2015–16 Cypriot Third Division
The 2015–16 Cypriot Third Division was the 45th season of the Cypriot third-level football league. Akritas Chlorakas won their 3rd title. Format Sixteen teams participated in the 2015–16 Cypriot Third Division. All teams played against each other twice, once at their home and once away. The team with the most points at the end of the season crowned champions. The first three teams were promoted to the 2016–17 Cypriot Second Division and the last three teams were relegated to the 2016–17 STOK Elite Division. However, after the end of the season Nikos & Sokratis Erimis withdrew from the 2016–17 Cypriot Third Division, and so the 14th-placed team remained to Third Division. Point system Teams received three points for a win, one point for a draw and zero points for a loss. Cypriot Third Division
The Cypriot Third Division (Greek language, Greek: Πρωτάθλημα Γ΄ Κατηγορίας) is the third tier Association football, football league competition in Cyprus, run by the Cyprus Football Association. Each year, the top finishing teams of the league are promoted to the Cypriot Second Division, and the lowest finishing teams are relegated to the STOK Elite Division. History The Cypriot Third Division was held for the first time in the 1970–71 Cypriot Third Division, 1970–71 season as the third level of the Cypriot football. All the teams played against each other twice, once at their home and once away. The team with the most points at the end of the season crowned champions. This is the league's current format until present time. The only season when the championship not held was during the 1974–75 season. PAEEK FC
PAEEK (; short for Ποδοσφαιρική Αθλητική Ένωσις Επαρχίας Κερύνειας, ''Podosfairiki Athlitiki Enosis Eparxeias Kerynias'', translated as "Football and Sport Union of Kyrenia District", literally "Footballing Sportive Union of the District of Kyrenia") is a Cypriot sports club founded in Kyrenia in 1953 by graduates of Kyrenia Gymnasium and represented the first force to be reckoned from the small city. It now plays in exile in Nicosia since the Turkish invasion of Cyprus in July 1974. This union has football division competing in the Cypriot First Division. PAEEK used to have also a basketball division, but due to economic difficulties had to suspend it for some years up to date. MEAP Pera Choriou Nisou (; short for Μικτή Ερυθρού Αστέρα Προόδου Πέρα Χωριού Νήσου, Mikti Erithrou Astera Proodou, "Selected team of Erithros Asteras and Proodos") is a Cypriot football club from the village of Nisou. The club was founded in the small town of Nisou near the city of Nicosia in 1981, following the merge of Erithros Asteras (Red Star) and Proodos (Progress). The colors of the team are red and white. Freedom 24 ENY Ypsonas FC is Cyprus, Cypriot Association football, football club based in Ypsonas of the Limassol District. History The club was founded in 2014 after the merger of two clubs: Enosi Neon Ypsona and Digenis Akritas Ipsona. Until May 14, 2019, the name of the club was Enosi Neon Ypsona-Digenis, before changing their name to Ypsonas FC (). In July 2022, Russian football blogger Yevgeny Savin, previously owner of Russian club FC Krasava, bought the club and became the new owner. The club then changed their name and adopted a similar logo to Krasava. Savin is a former football player. According to his own account, he bought the club for US$450'000.
