2015–16 Bristol Rovers F.C. Season
The 2015–16 season was the 133rd season in Bristol Rovers' history and their 88th in the Football League. Rovers returned to the Football League after an absence of just one season following their promotion from the Conference Premier via the play-offs. For the second successive season, Rovers were promoted, the first time the club had achieved back to back promotions in its history. On a dramatic final day of the season in which Rovers required a win and other results to go in their favour, a 92nd-minute winner against Dagenham & Redbridge from Lee Brown sparked wild celebrations at the Memorial Stadium as the club returned to the third tier of English football for the first time in five years. Striker Matty Taylor ended the season as the top goalscorer in the top four divisions of the English football league system with 27 goals. Darrell Clarke
Darrell James Clarke (born 16 December 1977) is an English professional Manager (association football), football manager and former Football player, player who played in the English Football League. He is the head coach of club Bristol Rovers F.C., Bristol Rovers. A box-to-box midfielder, Clarke began his career with Mansfield Town F.C., Mansfield Town in 1995, where he spent the first six years of his career, making 173 league and cup appearances. In 2001, he Transfer (association football), transferred to Hartlepool United F.C., Hartlepool United, where he spent another six years, making a further 136 appearances. He was sent out on Loan (sports), loan to Stockport County F.C., Stockport County, Port Vale F.C., Port Vale, and Rochdale A.F.C., Rochdale in the final years of his spell.
