2015–16 Blackpool F.C. Season
The 2015–16 season was Blackpool's 107th season in the Football League, and their first season back in League One following relegation from the 2014–15 Football League Championship. Along with competing in League One, the club also participated in the FA Cup, League Cup and Football League Trophy. The season covered the period from 1 July 2015 to 30 June 2016. The club was managed by Neil McDonald, in his first season in charge. Following Blackpool's relegation to League Two at the end of the season, McDonald left his role as Blackpool manager. Blackpool finished 22nd in League One and were relegated for the second-successive season. They played the 2016–17 campaign in League Two, their first time playing in the bottom division of English professional football in fifteen years. Blackpool F
Blackpool is a seaside town in Lancashire, England. It is located on the Irish Sea coast of the Fylde peninsula, approximately north of Liverpool and west of Preston, Lancashire, Preston. It is the main settlement in the Borough of Blackpool, borough of the same name. Blackpool was originally a small hamlet; it began to grow in the mid-eighteenth century, when sea bathing for health purposes became fashionable. Blackpool's beach was suitable for this activity, and by 1781 several hotels had been built. The opening of a railway station in 1846 allowed more visitors to reach the resort, which continued to grow for the remainder of the nineteenth century. In 1876, the town became a borough. 2014–15 Football League Championship
The 2014–15 Football League Championship (referred to as the Sky Bet Championship for sponsorship reasons), was the eleventh season of the Football League Championship under its current title and the twenty-third season under its current league structure. The 2014–15 season began on 8 August 2014 and ended on 2 May 2015. Bournemouth won the league on the last day of the season, confirming their place in the top flight for the first time in their history. Watford were runners-up and took their place in the Premier League for the first time since the 2006–07 season. Norwich were the final promoted team, bouncing straight back from their relegation the previous season by beating Middlesbrough 2–0 in the Play Off Final. At the other end of the table, Blackpool were relegated in April having been cut adrift at the bottom of the table for much of the season. Jim McAlister (Scottish Footballer)
James Duncan McAlister (born 2 November 1985) is a Scottish retired footballer, who is most known for being club captain for Greenock Morton, making 361 appearances for the club. Although predominantly right-footed, McAlister played on the left side of midfield in an eight-year first spell at Morton and was transformed into a right wing-back while at Hamilton Academical. At Dundee, he established himself as a central midfielder. After a three-year spell in English football with Blackpool, McAlister returned to Morton in 2018 and retired midway through the 2020–21 season. Morecambe ( ) is a seaside town and civil parish in the City of Lancaster district of Lancashire, England, on Morecambe Bay, part of the Irish Sea. In 2011 the parish had a population of 34,768. Name The first use of the name was by John Whitaker in his ''History of Manchester'' (1771), when he refers to the "æstury of Moricambe". It next appears four years later in ''Antiquities of Furness'', where the bay is described as "the Bay of Morecambe". That name is derived from the Roman name ''Moriancabris Æsturis'' shown on maps prepared for them by ''Claudius Ptolemœus'' (Ptolemy) from his original Greek maps. At this distance in time it is impossible to say if the name was originally derived from an earlier language (e.g. Celtic language) or from Greek. Jack Redshaw (born 20 November 1990) is an English professional footballer who plays as a forward for Hyde United. Career Rochdale Redshaw was then in talks with Blackpool, but signed for Rochdale a few weeks later and was given the number 10 shirt. He made his debut as a late substitute for Rochdale on 14 August 2010 in the Football League One game against Brighton & Hove Albion at The Withdean Stadium. Clark Robertson (born 5 September 1993) is a Scottish professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for club Dundee. Career He signed a full-time contract with Aberdeen in June 2009, and made his debut for the club in a 3–1 defeat to Hamilton Academical on 1 May 2010. Jarrett Anthony Rivers (born 10 September 1993) is an English professional footballer who plays as a right winger for club Darlington. He previously played in the Football League for Blackpool. Career Rivers played youth football for Middlesbrough; after he was released he began working in a factory but "quit after one day because it made me realise I did not want to do that for the rest of my life, so I have worked hard in football ever since." Bradley Potts (born 3 July 1994) is an English footballer who plays as a midfielder and wing-back for club Preston North End. Career Potts began his career with Newcastle United youth academy before moving to Carlisle United and made his professional debut on 11 August 2012 in a 1–0 win against Accrington Stanley in the first round of the League Cup. Kyle Charles Letheren (born 26 December 1987) is a Welsh former professional footballer and goalkeeper coach. He is currently a goalkeeper coach at Doncaster Rovers. John Herron (born 1 February 1994) is a Scottish professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Irish Football League side Ballymena United. Career Celtic Herron joined Celtic as a youth player aged 8.
