2015–16 Belarusian Cup
The 2015–16 Belarusian Cup was the 25th season of the Belarusian annual cup competition. Contrary to the league season, it has been conducted in a fall-spring rhythm. The first were played on 23 May 2015. Winners of the Cup qualified for the second qualifying round of the 2016–17 UEFA Europa League. Participating clubs The following teams took part in the competition: First round In this round 5 amateur clubs and 9 randomly chosen Second League clubs were drawn into 7 fixtures. The matches were played on 23 and 24 May 2015. Second round In this round 7 winners of the First Round were joined by 11 remaining Second League clubs and 14 First League clubs to play in 16 fixtures. FC Slutsk
SFC Slutsk (; ) is a Belarusian association football club based in Slutsk, Minsk Oblast. History Origins and predecessor clubs There was competitive football in Slutsk as early as 1913, with a Slutsk team entering the third season of the republican competition in 1926, but it did not enter a BSSR competition again until 1936. From the 1940s, the city of Slutsk was represented at a very low level by a team called Slutsk Spartak. During World War 2, the city's football pitch was the site of "fierce battles" and extensive trench construction. In 1948, the city's executive committee decided to promote and fund football. The same year, the city stadium, originally built in 1935, was rebuilt. In addition to government funding, the city team was funded by the "trade union voluntary sports society and individual enterprises." FC Smolevichi (, ), was a Belarusian football club based in Smalyavichy (Smolevichi), Minsk Oblast. History The team was founded in 2009 as Vigvam Smolevichi. The same year, they debuted in the Minsk Oblast championship. In 2010, they joined the Belarusian Second League. They were renamed to Smolevichi in 2011 and to Smolevichi-STI in 2012. Smolevichi-STI won the 2012 Second League season, and have been playing in the First League since 2013. In January 2016, they reached the agreement with BATE Borisov to become Borisov's team farm club, although the partnership only lasted for one season. In 2017, Smolevichi-STI finished second in the First League and were promoted. FC Svetlogorsk is a Belarusian football club based in Svietlahorsk, Gomel Region. FC Isloch Minsk Raion or Islach (; ) is a Belarusian football club based in Minsk, although it officially represents Minsk Raion and is named after the Islach River. History The team was founded in 2007 as an amateur club. From 2007 until 2011, it played in the Minsk Oblast championship. In 2012, Isloch joined the Belarusian Second League and, after finishing 3rd in its debut season, won promotion to the First League. Isloch represented Belarus at the 2013 UEFA Regions' Cup. FC Rechitsa-2014 () was a Belarusian football club based in Rechytsa. History The club was founded in 1952 as Krasnaya Zvezda Rechitsa (''Red Star'') and spent Soviet years playing in the Belarusian SSR league or in lower regional leagues. In 1960, they became Dneprovets Rechitsa, then Dnepr Rechitsa in 1962. In 1977, they were renamed to Neftyanik Rechitsa (''Oiler'') and in 1980 to Sputnik Rechitsa (''Satellite''). In 1991, Sputnik won the Belarusian SSR First League (2nd level). In 1992, the club was renamed to Vedrich Rechitsa and included to newly created Belarusian Premier League. FC Dnepr Mogilev (; ) is a Belarusian football team, playing in the city of Mogilev. Their home stadium is Spartak Stadium. History Dnepr Mogilev was founded in 1960 under the name Khimik Mogilev and began playing in the Class B (second-tier league) of the Soviet championship, which consisted of over 140 teams split into several regional zones. In 1963, the team was relegated to the third tier due to league structure reorganization, and their name was changed to Spartak Mogilev. In 1970, they dropped to the fourth tier, but the following year were brought back to the third, both times due to further league reorganizations. FC Vitebsk (, ) is a Belarusian football club based in Vitebsk. The club plays in the Belarusian Premier League, the top division in Belarusian football. Their home stadium is Vitebsky Central Sport Complex. History The club was founded in 1960 as Krasnoye Znamya Vitebsk (''Red Flag Vitebsk''). They began playing in Soviet Class B (second-tier league) the same year. After three seasons, they relegated to the third tier. FC Slavia Mozyr or FK Slaviya Mazyr (, ) is a Belarusian professional football club based in Mazyr, Belarus. History The team was founded in 1987 as Polessie (Polesia). Between 1987 and 1991, they played in the Belarusian SSR league. From 1992 till 1995, they played in the Belarusian First League. They changed their name to MPKC Mazyr since the 1994–95 season.
