2015 Tirreno–Adriatico
The 2015 Tirreno–Adriatico was the 50th edition of the Tirreno–Adriatico stage race. It took place from 11 to 17 March and was the third race of the 2015 UCI World Tour. The race was one of the most important races in the early part of the cycling season and was used by riders preparing both for the Grand Tours and for the classics season. The route of the 2015 edition started and finished with individual time trials, one of which was rescheduled from a team time trial shortly before the race began. In between, the race consisted of two stages suitable for sprinters, one for puncheurs and two for climbers. The key stage of the race was stage 5, which involved a summit finish on Monte Terminillo. The defending champion from the 2014 edition was Alberto Contador (), who was expected to be challenged by three of the strongest stage racers in the world, Nairo Quintana (), Vincenzo Nibali () and Chris Froome (). 2015 UCI World Tour
The 2015 UCI World Tour was the seventh edition of the ranking system launched by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) in 2009. The series started with the opening stage of the Tour Down Under on 20 January, and concluded with Il Lombardia on 4 October. For the second successive year, Spain's Alejandro Valverde won the World Tour individual points title, amassing 675 points over the course of the season. The rider finished 201 points clear of his closest rival and compatriot Joaquim Rodríguez of , while Colombian rider Nairo Quintana was third – also for the – 17 points behind Rodríguez and 218 points in arrears of Valverde. 2015 Vuelta A Andalucía
The 2015 Vuelta a Andalucía (also known as the Ruta del Sol) was the 61st running of the Vuelta a Andalucía cycling stage race. It was rated as a 2.1 event on the 2015 UCI Europe Tour and was held from 18 to 22 February 2015, in the Andalusia region of southern Spain. Although the race lasted five days, there were six stages, with the first day split between two stages. The previous three editions of the Vuelta a Andalucía had been won by Alejandro Valverde (), but he chose to begin his season at the 2015 Tour of Oman instead. 2013 Tirreno–Adriatico
The 2013 Tirreno–Adriatico was the 48th edition of the Tirreno–Adriatico cycling stage race, often known as the ''Race of the Two Seas''. It started on 6 March in San Vincenzo and ended on 12 March in San Benedetto del Tronto and consisted of seven stages, including a race-commencing team time trial and a race-concluding individual time trial. It was the third race of the 2013 UCI World Tour season. The race was won for the second consecutive year by Italy's Vincenzo Nibali of the team – becoming the first rider to do so since Tony Rominger in 1989 and 1990 – who took the race lead on the penultimate stage, and held the lead to the end of the race, the following day in San Benedetto del Tronto. 2015 Tour De France
The 2015 Tour de France was the 102nd edition of the Tour de France, one of cycling's Grand Tours. The -long race consisted of 21 stages, starting on 4 July in Utrecht, the Netherlands, and concluding on 26 July with the Champs-Élysées stage in Paris. A total of 198 riders from 22 teams entered the race. Wouter Lambertus Martinus Henricus Poels (born 1 October 1987) is a Dutch professional road bicycle racer, who rides for UCI WorldTeam . Career Poels was born in Venray. He almost lost a kidney after a massive crash on the sixth stage of the 2012 Tour de France. After competing with the squad since 2009, Poels moved to the squad for the 2014 season. Greg Van Avermaet (born 17 May 1985) is a Belgian professional cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam .
