2015 ICC World Cricket League Division Six
The 2015 ICC World Cricket League Division Six was a limited-overs international cricket tournament that took place in England from 7 to 13 September 2015. The majority of matches were played at grounds in Essex, although two matches took place in Bishop's Stortford, in the neighbouring county of Hertfordshire. Three bids were received for the event, with Essex being named the host in February 2015, after defeating bids from Guernsey and Vanuatu. Eight teams participated in the tournament, which formed part of the 2012–18 World Cricket League and the qualification process for the 2019 World Cup. Three teams (the Cayman Islands, Guernsey, and Vanuatu) qualified based on their positions in earlier WCL tournaments, while the other five (Botswana, Fiji, Norway, Saudi Arabia, and Suriname) qualified after winning regional qualifiers. The International Cricket Council (ICC) is the global Sports governing body, governing body of cricket. Vanuatu National Cricket Team
The Vanuatu national cricket team is the men's team that represents Vanuatu in international cricket. The team is organised by the Vanuatu Cricket Association, which became an affiliate member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) in 1995 and an List of International Cricket Council members, associate member in 2009. Vanuatu made its international debut at the 1979 Pacific Games, at which time the country was still known as the New Hebrides. 2015 ICC Africa Twenty20 Championship
The 2015 ICC Africa Twenty20 Championship was a cricket tournament held in Benoni, South Africa, from 27 to 31 March 2015. All matches were played at the Willowmoore Park complex. Namibia won the tournament (its first) on net run rate from Kenya, with both teams progressing to the 2015 World Twenty20 Qualifier in Ireland and Scotland. Two other African sides, South Africa and Zimbabwe, are ICC full members, and thus qualify directly for the World Twenty20. Namibian Gerrie Snyman and Kenyan James Ngoche led the tournament in runs and wickets, respectively, and Ngoche was Player of the Tournament. The 2016 ICC World Cricket League Division Five was an international cricket tournament that took place in Jersey during May 2016. It formed part of the 2012–18 cycle of the World Cricket League (WCL). The Jersey Cricket Board were awarded the hosting rights in October 2015, with the Nigeria Cricket Federation the only other bidder. County Cricket Ground, Chelmsford
The County Ground in Chelmsford, Essex, has been the official home ground of Essex County Cricket Club since 1967. It has been used for first-class cricket since 1925 and List A matches since 1969. The capacity is 6,500, mostly in single-tier seating with a single double-tiered stand. The pavilion was completed in the 1970s. History Essex's first match at the ground took place in June 1925 against Oxford University. and their first County Championship game at Chelmsford was against Somerset in 1926. When the club left its headquarters at Leyton Cricket Ground at the end of the 1933 season they began a period of playing games at various venues around the county, with a week allocated to each. Essex County Cricket Club is one of eighteen first-class county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Essex. Founded in 1876, the club had minor county status until 1894 when it was promoted to first-class status pending its entry into the County Championship in 1895.
